Job Summary: The Windows Systems Administrator is responsible for ensuring the health, stability, and performance of Windows server and workstation environments. This role involves maintaining, troubleshooting, and upgrading systems and networks, with a focus on timely execution and minimizing downtime. The ideal candidate will serve as a subject matter expert for one or more infrastructure environments or applications and provide support as part of a 24x7 on-call schedule. Essential Duties Network Maintenance and System Upgrades: Perform regular and timely network maintenance, ensuring that backups and system upgrades are completed as required to maintain system integrity and performance. Windows Server Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve Windows server issues in a timely manner, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations. Server Clusters & Replication: Implement and maintain Windows Network Load Balanced (NLB) server clusters. Manage and troubleshoot remote failover replication to ensure seamless data availability and disaster recovery. Hardware and Software Maintenance: Maintain, expand, and troubleshoot existing software and hardware, addressing any issues that arise with proactive solutions. Windows Workstation Management: Oversee the maintenance and troubleshooting of Windows workstations, ensuring optimal performance and stability for end users. Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in at least one infrastructure environment or application, providing guidance and support to the IT team and other stakeholders. Documentation: Create, update, and maintain technical documentation for systems, networks, and infrastructure processes to ensure knowledge sharing and business continuity. On-Call Support: Participate in a rotating 24x7 on-call schedule to provide timely support for critical issues that may arise outside of regular working hours. Education & Experience The ideal candidate would possess an intermediate level of experience, typically around 6 or more years, with management, control and monitoring of server OS and network equipment. Preferred Skills A solid understanding of an operating system; understands paging and swapping, devices and what device drivers do, can use performance analysis to tune systems. Windows Server operating systems, Terminal Services, Exchange Server administration. Experience with server class hardware such as Dell EMC, Cisco UCS, HP Knowledge of backup systems, clustering, SQL server. MSCE and/or other systems certifications. Experience with VoIP systems, Linux OS, VMWare, enterprise class storage systems Compensation: $60,000-$80,000. This range is a good faith estimate of the compensation to be offered for this position based on the ideal candidate’s qualifications, the Company’s operational needs, and other considerations permitted by law.
