What You Will Do

Methods and Tools has an immediate opening for a Manager Information Workplace Services within the Infrastructure Solutions team.  The candidate is responsible for provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, maintenance of systems hardware and software related to a Windows/Linux/Cloud infrastructure for unclassified and classified programs and collaborate with a diverse team to support fast-paced, critical programs with information system capabilities. Success in this role means you can develop, implement and maintain secure, cost-efficient environments across various programs and platforms. Duties include, but are not limited to, creating end-to-end solutions to solve complex IT infrastructure problems, server management (software and hardware); storage management (logical and physical); cross platform authentication and access management; data backup and restoration; software and license configuration; and workstation support. In this position the selected candidate would be leading a small team to support the organization technological product such as:

Deployment and maintenance of:

Computing clusters

Secure infrastructure

DevSecOPs including pipeline deployments, tool integration and automation

Cloud Computing on AWS and Azure

Product security

Key Responsibilities:

Working as a team lead in a fast-paced technological environmentUse troubleshooting techniques to resolve technical problems of a moderate to high scope and complexity to include the integration of hardware and operating systems within a networked environmentExperience with server architectures and troubleshooting methods and be able to assist in developing solutions and documentation to a variety of technical problemsUnderstanding and knowledge of Citrix, Jenkins, Confluence, Jira, containerization, and basic concepts to include DNS, DHCP, LDAP, AD, and server replication methodsConfigure, administer, and maintain a mixed Windows and Linux servers to security standard while maintaining high uptime for productionExecute and support on premises and cloud deployments of applicationsKnowledgeable of data backup options and technologies for on premises and cloud deploymentsWork with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirementsInstall and configure software applications requested by end usersPreparing presentations and status for internal and customer communicationsProvide guidance and training to the teamProvide documentation and training on advanced IT processes and procedures and other tasks as assignedOccasionally require work effort beyond standard work hours (e.g., after hours maintenance, address and resolve work stoppage issues, etc.

Qualifications You Must Have

Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)5 years of IT experience, or an Advanced Degree and 3 years’ experience.The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required after day one.U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

Familiarity with modern data analysis and signal processing techniques.Demonstrated capability in applying advanced analytics to real-world sensor data, time series analysis, machine learning methods and life prediction / time-to-event estimation.Experience in hardware/software risk reduction and capability validation effortsExperience in coordinating multiple organizations to deliver on schedule and on budget.Knowledge of and exposure to aerospace control and diagnostic systems.Proficiency with Python, MATLAB, Databricks, modern optimization approaches, and Agile methodsKnowledge of Cloud Computing tools and methods, particularly AWS and/or Azure.

The Methods and Technology discipline within Pratt and Whitney Controls and Diagnostic Systems provides a wide variety of domain experiences and opportunities. What is my role type?

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.

This position is open to internal applicants only within Pratt & Whitney.  To help sure up our military programs, we are looking to reallocate resources to USG direct charging roles and therefore consider this to be an internal to Pratt movement.  We may look to open these opportunities upon more broadly once we complete the initial Pratt talent moves.  

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
