Infrastructure Automation Developer

Job title: Infrastructure Automation Developer

About the Job

Sanofi has a strong ambition to enhance efficiency and improve delivery quality across all teams. Automation is central to achieving this goal, and it plays a key role in driving innovation and scaling productivity. As part of our broader initiative, Digital Tech has established a dedicated focus on Automation Development to ensure that automation is embedded into every aspect of our processes.

To realize this vision, the Automation Development team will focus on streamlining and automating the entire development pipeline—covering everything from coding and testing to deployment and maintenance. This team will work closely with other engineering teams to build robust automation frameworks and tools that enable continuous integration, delivery, and monitoring of entire lifecycle of automation across environments.

The Automation Developer will play a crucial role in designing, building, and supporting automation solutions that improve the reliability, speed, and scalability of our development processes. In collaboration with cross-functional teams, this role will ensure seamless, end-to-end automation of critical workflows, empowering teams to focus on innovation rather than manual processes.

Main Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain Ansible playbooks and automation frameworks to address complex business requirements and enterprise-level infrastructure use cases.

Implement and manage version control, testing, and deployment processes for Ansible playbooks and other automation tools.

Administer and optimize Ansible Automation infrastructure, ensuring it meets performance, scalability, and operational requirements.

Collaborate closely with DevOps and IT operations teams to integrate automation solutions with broader infrastructure and application lifecycle processes.

Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues related to playbook execution, automation frameworks, and infrastructure, ensuring minimal disruption and high availability.

About you:

4+ years of hands-on experience developing and managing Ansible playbooks within cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or similar).

Strong experience in automating both infrastructure provisioning and application deployment using Ansible and related tools (e.g., Ansible Automation Platform, ServiceNow, etc.).

Expertise in writing, optimizing, and troubleshooting Ansible playbooks for complex, distributed environments.

Solid scripting proficiency in Bash or Python for automation and orchestration.

Experience with version control systems, particularly GitHub, and an understanding of CI/CD pipeline integration.

In-depth knowledge of system administration on Linux (RHEL, CentOS) and Windows platforms, with the ability to troubleshoot and optimize system performance.

Familiarity with API integration and automation, with experience using RESTful APIs or similar technologies.

Working knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.

Experience with continuous integration (CI) and continuous deployment (CD) practices, including pipeline management and optimization.

Preferred Qualifications:

Advanced knowledge of PostgreSQL, Oracle, Apache, Tomcat, and Nginx.

Familiarity with PowerShell and experience in writing scripts for system administration and automation.

Experience in designing and implementing test automation frameworks using Ansible or other automation tools.

Hands-on experience with cloud platforms and virtualization technologies such as Red Hat OpenStack, VMware vSphere, AWS, or Microsoft Azure.

Expertise in system monitoring and performance optimization tools to support infrastructure health and automation reliability.

Experience: 4+ years in IT operations, DevOps, and automation technologies.

Technical Skills: Expert-level proficiency in Ansible, Python, and ServiceNow for automation and orchestration, with a strong foundation in systems administration.

Educational Background: A bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

Language Requirements: English proficiency (mandatory).
