Responsibilities Job Summary The Structured Cabling Engineer III designs, tests, modifies, and documents WAN (wide area network), IP (internet protocol) Voice, IP Video & Cable infrastructure. The application of system analysis techniques & procedures to troubleshoot network connectivity. In addition, the Structured Cabling Engineer III will provide guidance, mentoring, training, and participates in a support on-call rotation facilitating off-hour work functions in support of incidents, upgrades, patches, and project task fulfillment. Designs, tests, modifies, and documents WAN (wide area network), IP (internet protocol) Voice, IP Video and Cable infrastructure WAN and Cable Vendor Solutions. Consults customers & developers, assists in design network architectures & plans future network scalability. WAN, Cable Audits, Standards, Cable Baseline and Planning, Cable Vendor RFP Process, Cable Vendor Contracts and relations. Designs cable infrastructure for wired/wireless projects in offices and buildings in a healthcare environment. Identifies requirements for electrical conduits & mechanical load. Removes/Pulls and installs/laying cables, analyzes, troubleshoots, and resolves errors, tests and terminates cables, patches panels. Documents & submits new cable engineering content to the knowledgebase, maintain team website, creates process maps, develop new framework & processes around problem management. Coaches and trains less experienced engineers, identifies coaching opportunities, provides leadership on Network Engineering projects. Creates, develops & oversees projects as needed, assigns resources to projects, coordinates major incidents response. Tracks & manages budget, under minimal supervision from management, manages projects from start to finish, requisitions equipment & supplies, assists with staff scheduling Uses communication skills to listen to, identify & address customer needs while building a relationship and rapport with customers. Builds positive working relationships with team members, managers & all departments. Prioritizes and responds promptly based on severity levels to needs of the customer. Proactively or timely recognizes opportunities for service recovery and acts to resolve issues. Completes IT Governance & IT project job assignments to ensure achievement of established project milestones Qualifications Education Bachelor's Degree or 4 years' work related experience in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or a related discipline. Required Experience 6 years of experience in designing, planning, deploying, documenting, maintaining and diagnosing of WAN, IP Voice, IP Video and Copper and Fiber Cabling. Required
