Infrastructure Consultant 2 - Systems Engineer Server
**Job Title:** Infrastructure Consultant 2 - Systems Engineer Server **Location:** Lincoln,NE **Travel:** 25% **Job Description:** seeking a Systems Engineer to drive efficiencies for the business through the advancement and delivery of the endpoint platforms and client applications. Candidates must be self-starters who possess the ability to work independently, as well as part of a team. Responsibilities include; enterprise platform management (physical & virtual), Cloud and SaaS services administration, and ensuring security compliance for all Distributed Systems. Essential Job Functions • Responsibilities over the system engineering process for multiple operating systems and hypervisors including Microsoft Windows Server, RedHat Enterprise Linux, VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, and Nutanix platforms, and optimizing them for redundancy, performance, security, and data protection. • Use available tools such as Microsoft’s System Center Suite, Active Directory/GPMC, RedHat Satellite, Blackbird Auditor for AD, Adaxes, AdminDroid, among others, to perform complex hardware and software maintenance tasks and fixing. • Management of cloud infrastructure in AWS and Azure including performance and capacity monitoring, resource provisioning, account security, and financial costing. • Develop, publish, and manage Infrastructure and Operations policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines. • Maintain, enhance, and fix the security of Ameritas’ server environment utilizingusing management and remediation methods. • Evaluate and advance the standards for operating system and hypervisor configuration templates, following industry standards such as CIS and/or DISA STIGS. • Work closely with the Audit and Security teams to address outstanding items and prioritize remediation tasks. • Possess in-depth technical knowledge of Microsoft O365 suite, including but not limited to the collaboration tools Outlook, Teams, and OneDrive. • Respond to alerts and emergency calls during and outside of normal business hours. • Act as an authority for multiple technologies or processes within the endpoint team. • Participate in architecture reviews and contribute to the technical direction of Ameritas. • Evaluate newly introduced and emerging endpoint technologies for their potential introduction into Ameritas’ technology footprint. • Contribute to the annual budget process by documenting technical justification for items aligning to the IT roadmap and general review of budget baselines. • Act as a technical project manager to coordinate endpoint infrastructure and organizational initiatives. • Track and resolve complex functionality and compatibility issues with little guidance and/or documentation and raise issues and/or requests with our technology partners and manufacturers as necessary.
