About The Team

Powering these products is a large scale distributed data system supporting streaming and batch workloads. The Infrastructure Team builds and maintains the bedrock for these systems, providing tooling, automation, expertise, and implementation for core infrastructure, CI/CD, and observability systems.

About the Role

Airship is looking for an Infrastructure Engineer to help build, maintain, and support the Cloud infrastructure which runs our high-throughput distributed architecture. Working with the Infrastructure team and collaborating with teams across the organization you will:

Deploy and maintain core cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform Build and maintain tooling, automation and monitoring infrastructure in Python Advise, monitor, and support company efforts around cost, security, disaster recovery, and compliance

This role would be perfect for an early career software developer looking to get into devops or someone with a mixture of devops and development experience.

Requirements

You should have at least

2-3 years of Linux and command line experience Professional programming/automation experience (Python, Go, Java, bash, etc) Experience working in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or Amazon Web Services (AWS) Knowledge and experience with networking fundamentals Excellent written and verbal communication skills Demonstrated ability to work remotely in close collaboration with a team

Bonus Points

A good candidate would also have some of the following experience/skills

Software development fundamentals and experience, (especially professional) Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code tools Production usage of Python, Java, Go, or other general purpose programming language Web/network security, including TLS, permissions management, vulnerability management, security best practices, etc Database and storage technologies, including RDBMS like Postgres/Mysql, columnar stores like Bigtable/Cassandra, and block storage like GCS/S3 Container and container orchestration systems, including Docker and Kubernetes CI/CD systems, including Github Actions, Jenkins, Spinnaker, etc. Work Location & Travel Requirements

This position is fully remote and may require up to 10% travel based on business needs or as requested by your manager.

Compensation

Airship’s compensation is determined by a variety of factors including market data, business needs, and geography. Base pay is part of your total compensation package and is dependent on multiple factors, including: relevant skills, work experience, business priorities, market demands, and location. 

The starting base pay range for this position is: $95,657 - $119,000 per year. Some roles may also be eligible for commission, bonus, or other performance incentives. Airship believes that employees should have the opportunity to benefit from value-creation, so equity is also offered with this role. In addition, Airship offers a robust benefits package as part of our Total Rewards approach to compensation.
