Seeking Senior Network Engineer or Network Engineer with at least 7 plus years of experience in managing TCP/IP networks, especially in a Cisco environment, with both strong technical, problem solving and interpersonal skills. 

Technical Skills:

TCP/IP Networking: In-depth understanding of TCP/IP protocols, subnetting, route summarization, NAT, and network troubleshooting. Cisco Networking: Proficiency with Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls, including configuration and management. Network Design and Implementation: Experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining network infrastructure—experience implementing and troubleshooting SD-WAN networks using Palo Alto appliances is strongly preferred. Network Security: Knowledge of network security protocols, firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems—Palo Alto and Cisco preferred, including building site-to-site VPN connections to 3rd party vendor networks and supporting client VPN. Knowledge of Cisco ISE is a big plus. Routing and Switching: Functional knowledge in routing protocols (especially BGP) and switching technologies (e.g., VLANs, EtherChannel, trunking, and STP). Wireless Networking: Expertise with wireless networking standards and technologies, including experience supporting RF handheld devices used in warehouse environments. Network Monitoring and Performance: Experience with network monitoring tools and performance optimization, including knowledge of SNMPv3—Solarwinds preferred. VoIP and QoS: Understanding of Voice over IP (VoIP) technologies and Quality of Service (QoS) configurations. Cloud Networking: Knowledge of cloud networking solutions and integration with on-premises networks—Palo Alto Prisma Access and AWS (including configuring Direct Connects, VPCs, and Transit Gateways) is strongly preferred. Automation and Scripting: Proficiency in network automation and scripting languages (e.g., Python).

Interpersonal Skills:

Communication: Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve network issues. Leadership: Experience in leading and mentoring junior network & security engineers. Adaptability: Ability to adapt to new technologies and changing network environments. Time Management: Efficiently manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks.
 

Certifications:

Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) – optional, but preferred Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) (optional but beneficial) Additional responsibilities include: Designs, constructs, tests, and implements integrated network, hardware and software solutions, distributed computing solutions, and/or physical and logical communications networks for the organization. Provides Tier 2 and Tier 3 support to service requests and trouble tickets to include Move, Add, and change requests for the enterprise transport. Must be able to write and execute detailed network implementations such as topology and rack elevation diagrams. Provides technical consulting on high level network designs, platform sizing, infrastructure system design and the application of new technologies. Applies extensive industry and enterprise knowledge to identify and recommend integrated solutions, products and services to support the enterprise's accomplishments of business goals or technical needs. Able to work on-call nights and weekends if needed to ensure transport availability or to meet service level agreements (SLAs) Provide network administration support for development, deployment, and problem identification and remediation of the enterprise network environment. Provide technical assistance to companion work groups in support of overlapping projects and maintain good inter-departmental relations. Assess the impact of system changes to the team and to the infrastructure. Respond to system network, operations, and maintenance problems while off duty, on an on-call basis.
