Infrastructure Engineer – Linux
The Mid-level Linux Systems Administrator will be responsible for all aspects of Linux and Unix Server based systems. Incident management, effective troubleshooting skills, and problem management with root cause resolution are critical requirements of a Mid/Senior Systems Administrator. Additionally, a Mid/Senior Systems Administrator needs to be a leader for the team; mentoring team members to ensure success. The position assumes full accountability along with the other members of the Operations Support team for delivery of services that meet all business requirements in a timely fashion. The position also collaborates with the Application Services and other IT team to provide a stable and secure server infrastructure.

Responsible for day-to-day Linux/Unix administrationResponsible for maintaining access controls and system securityParticipates in change control process for Epiq infrastructure changesResponsible for vendor escalations as requiredEnsures systems uptime and stabilityVery good in troubleshooting and production support for LinuxEnsures process & procedures are followed and documentation is completed when new services are deployedEnsures Business Unit needs are met within agreed upon timelinesSupports Application Services team as neededContinually seeks ways to improve services including automation of manual processesPrimarily this role expectation to handle Linux support task from India late hours shiftAdditional International Team Responsibilities
Unix/Linux administration which include but not limitedUnix/Linux build from scratchUser/group management scripting, automation, log rotationLinux networking, DHCP, DNSPermissions and ACLsEpiq application installs, upgrades and best practicesSQL support - daily support on writing queries, custom queries, assistance in Relativity mobile deployments if needed onlyJob Requirements
Experience managing Linux/Unix systems in an enterprise environmentComfort with most aspects of RedHat 6/7 administration; for example, managing processes and services, configuration of mail systems, system installation and configuration, printer systems, and fundamentals of securityAble to write bash/shell script from scratch to automate tasksKnowledge with Ansible and other configuration management toolKnowledge of system performance counters and their meaningsStrong troubleshooting skills with the ability to solve complex issuesStrong knowledge of industry standard IT processes and procedures including ITIL standardsBackground in supporting Highly Available systems (Oracle RAC, other HA environments)Understanding of TCP/IP networking (DNS, DHCP, RSA, VPN)Experience using troubleshooting tools (wireshark, tcpdump, etc)Experience working with large data volumes and data sets (100-200TB DBs, 5PB NFS shares)Experience with system management tools, philosophies, methodsExperience in Network security practices and strategiesExperience in integration with Active Directory and security access controlsFuture thinking a must – Requires the ability to change and improve processesAbility to program in an administrative language (e.g., Perl, Python)Works well alone or on a teamStrong focus on business outcomesComfort with collaboration, open communications and reaching across functional bordersWillingness to participate in knowledge sharing via a wiki and source code repository like gitlabUnderstanding of virtualization orchestration, continuous integration, load balancing and clustered SQL/RAC databases.Usually works in US day shift hoursParticipate in a weekly on-call rotationTo be available for ADHOC/planned activitiesNice to have
