Infrastructure Engineer III, Software-Defined Wide Access Network

As an Infrastructure Engineer III, Software-Defined Wide Access Network at JPMorgan Chase within the Infrastructure Platforms (IP) team, you utilize strong knowledge of software, applications, and technical processes within the infrastructure engineering discipline. Apply your technical knowledge and problem-solving methodologies across multiple applications of moderate scope.

Job responsibilities

Serves as a member of the Network Engineering team, sharing responsibility for leading and engaging in the architecture, evaluation and standardization of emerging network communication technologies, products and solutions Oversees the entire lifecycle of the global network structure for Software-Defined Wide Access Network (SD-WAN) – designing, implementing, maintaining and providing support for SD-WAN based Network Solutions Captures, analyzes, decomposes and creates requirements for systems, products and subsystems of moderate to high complexity Applies technical knowledge and problem-solving methodologies to projects of moderate scope, with a focus on improving the data and systems running at scale, and ensures end to end monitoring of applications Creates network plans, document existing and proposed network infrastructure, maintain relationships with technical solution providers. Drives the daily activities supporting the standard capacity process applications and provides regular updates on tasks and projects progress Engages with business, product and architecture teams to define Next Gen SDWAN Network requirements and capabilities Collaborates with other engineering team members and the business unit to set the current state and future direction of the technological landscape Partners with application and infrastructure teams to identify potential capacity risks and govern remediation statuses Accounts for making significant decisions for a project consisting of multiple technologies and applications, along with project implementation within budgetary, schedule and resource constraints Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Formal training or certification on infrastructure engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience  Experienced network analyst with a strong background of design, implementation and support of a complex network environment in a global organization Experience in designing, implementing and managing SD-WAN solutions across an enterprise network environment Strong understanding of routing protocols particularly BGP and OSPF Familiarity with cloud networking and integration with SD-WAN solutions Application of Security/Cybersecurity methodologies to network and systems design to provide secure services that support business requirements Advanced knowledge in the following key areas: SD-WAN, Networking & Routing, Network Automation, Network Virtualization Strong knowledge of one or more infrastructure disciplines such as hardware, networking terminology, databases, storage engineering, deployment practices, integration, automation, scaling, resilience, and performance assessments Experience with multiple cloud technologies with the ability to operate in and migrate across public and private clouds Drives to develop infrastructure engineering knowledge of additional domains, data fluency, and automation knowledge

 

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

SD-WAN certification from industry recognized organizations(Versa Networks or Fortinet) is desirable Proficiency in configuring and managing SD-WAN appliances from various vendors Familiarity or experience with network automation Experience with cloud-based technologies and tools Knowledge of one or more scripting languages (e.g., Scripting, Python, etc.)
