The Healthcare Environment and Logistics Management (HELM) program supports the mission of the Veterans Affairs (VA) HELM Product Line to modernize, standardize, and streamline VA’s logistics and environmental solutions in support of improving operational efficiencies, achieving seamless interoperability among partners and stakeholders, maximizing buying power, and ultimately improving Veteran healthcare. HELM is organized into six sub-product lines each focused on connecting people, systems, and data to enhance healthcare efficiencies and supply chain management operations.

 
What is the position? 
Cognosante is seeking an Infrastructure/System Administrator to join our team, with experience in deploying, monitoring, and maintaining networks and software on Windows systems.  The Infrastructure Engineer/System Administrator will ensure that requirements are met for new and existing systems in support of engineering and end-users. The Infrastructure/System Administrator should have experience with the setup and maintenance of Windows systems, network configurations, and network security.
 
What will I get to do?  

Configure, maintain, monitor, patch, and support Windows servers that are providing websites and integration tools to internal VA team members.Support logical network infrastructure between on premise, cloud, and VA WAN, in support of development, QA, validation, and production environments. This includes knowledge of DNS, firewalls, load balancers, HTTPS, TLS / SSL certificates, WAF, and similar technologies.Maintain, deploy and monitor websites hosted in IIS.Provide tier 2 and tier 3 support to help desk related to above responsibilities.

 
What qualifications do I need? 

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering or other engineering or technical discipline. 8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education.5 years relevant experienceProficient in operating systems, specifically Windows Server 2012 r2, 2019, 2022.Familiar with interconnectivity between databases, API services, websites, and end-users.Proficiency in ActiveDirectory, Powershell, DHCP, BigFix, ServiceNow, SCCM, VMware, GitHub.Knowledge of network diagrams and documentation for design and planning network communication systems.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Must be able to achieve a moderate (Tier 2) VA position of trust.

Compensation

$96,760.98 - $154,817.56

The pay range for this job is determined by various factors, including but not necessarily limited to location, responsibilities of the job, and alignment with market data. When determining a salary for this role, the following factors may be taken into consideration - contract-specific affordability, education, knowledge, skills, competencies and experience. The estimate displayed represents the salary range for this position and is just one component of Cognosante’s total compensation package for employees.
