Warner Bros. Discovery is looking for an Ingest Operator (M/F ) for a 12-month fixed-term contract. 

Based in the London Tech Hub Ingest Operators are responsible for the preparation, routing, ingesting, and monitoring of incoming feeds required for recording content across both the Eurosport, TNT and Free To Air (FTA) platforms. Duties will also include QC’ing processing and sharing content. Preparing meta data and audio configurations. Managing bookings of Live and non-Live feeds. Whilst working closely with production and other departments. 

Key responsibilities: 

Responsible for the QC’ing of entertainment and sports content sent from distribution or recorded internally using AMPP (Asset management) GV. 

Ensuring all ingested material is ingested in timely fashion. 

Escalating to relevant departments when material fails QC by not adhering to broadcast standards. 

Managing the transfer of recorded assets to Cloud and Archive. 

Routing sources for recordings using BNCS panel. 

Following ‘Fast Track’ workflows to allow assets to be made ready for broadcast quickly. 

Preparing scheduled Eurosport, TNT and FTA recordings into the MAM (Media Asset Management) system including production feeds. 

Adding critical metadata for recorded feeds for Archive and edit management. 

Monitoring live playlists across 5 territories, making sure scheduled events are running on time and amending bookings and recordings when changes to schedules are made. 

Preparing live playback to transmission, Cloud or MCR (for further distribution). 

Prioritizing Ingest requests from schedulers and sports co-ordinators. 

Coordination with the Preview and edit teams to confirm assets are available. 

Close interaction with the internal and external departments to achieve the same goal of processing requests to air. 

Submitting daily shift handovers including errors and / or discrepancies etc 

Raising critical issues through the escalation process 

Responsible for 180 record ports, making sure that all 22 languages are present for each recording 

Working independently whilst on nightshifts 

Supplying Editors, Sports co-ordinators, and VOD (Video on Demand) with recording information 

Able to problem solve and fix issues independently 

Key ability to multitask across the three areas of the team 

Assigning of ports for recording, making sure they are booked in a logical manner 

Liasing with the Paris team 

Multi-task across various communication platforms, talkback, slack, zoom, emails 

 

 

Requirements: 

Knowledge of television terminology 

A minimum of 2 years' experience working in a broadcast environment. 

Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail 

Knowledge of video / audio equalization equipment including waveform, vector scopes 

The ability to effectively prioritize requests  

Ability to work unsupervised and remain proactive 

Able to work and remain calm under pressure 

Excellent people and interpersonal skills, good team player 

Excellent communication skills 

High levels of initiative, motivation, and time management 

Ability to deal with and resolve issues in a timely fashion 

Prepared to operate in a fast paced, high pressure and deadline driven environment 

Able to work a shift pattern roster including weekends and night shift 

Capable of working in a fast pace, quick moving environment and excellent time management 

 

 

Onsite Working - This role is advertised as Onsite, meaning all working hours and days (regardless of shift pattern) will be carried out at the place of work. Subject to any applicable laws, WBD / your Line Manager reserves the right to change this working agreement, where this is essential to business needs and upon reasonable notice to you.
