Injection Molding Process Technician, Second Shift

Job Description:
Flowserve Cookeville seeks a Second Shift Injection Molding Process Technician. Responsible for operating Arburg injection molding machines to produce PFA-coated ball and plug valves according to production schedules and quality standards. This position involves repetitive tasks across multiple stages of the molding and finishing process, including part handling, machine operation, part sizing, CNC trimming, and paint preparation. Operators must also perform basic tool changes when switching valve sizes.

Hours:  3 PM - 1:30 AM. 10 hour days, 4 days a week.
 

Key Responsibilities:
• Operate Arburg injection molding machines for producing PFA-coated valves.
• Remove preheated components from oven and load them into the molding machine.
• Transfer molded parts to sizing unit to ensure dimensional accuracy.
• Load parts onto Mazak CNC equipment for trimming operations.
• Prepare finished parts for painting by masking threaded holes with plugs and stickers.
• Perform injection mold tool changes when transitioning between valve sizes.
• Inspect parts visually and dimensionally for quality and conformance to specifications.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring compliance with safety and housekeeping standards.
• Complete production records and track part counts as required.
• Communicate with maintenance or engineering teams if equipment issues arise.

Job Requirements:
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Prior experience with plastic injection molding; experience with Arburg machines preferred but not required.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to follow standard operating procedures.
• Familiarity with CNC equipment and ability to safely load/unload parts.
• Comfort with repetitive tasks and standing for extended periods.
• Ability to perform basic tooling changeovers and follow setup instructions.
• Attention to detail for quality control, part sizing, and masking preparation.
• Basic understanding of safety practices in a manufacturing environment.
• Willingness to work in a hot environment (due to oven and molding operations).
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and use hand tools.
