Injury Management Consultant

We are seeking a talented individual to join our JLT Public Sector team at Marsh Australia. This role will be based in Brisbane office. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

JLT’s Public Sector in Queensland operates under a long-term contract with the Local Government Association of Queensland (LGAQ) to manage LGW, provides financial management, WH&S, rehabilitation, and claims management services to LGW’s 65 member Councils and their employees throughout Queensland. The LGAQ is the appointed Trustee and license holder of the LGW Workcare mutual scheme under the Workers' Compensation and Rehabilitation Act 2003. 

We are seeking an Injury Management Consultant to join our multidisciplinary Local Government Workcare team based in our Newstead office.  The position will require the candidate to have a Tertiary qualification in one of the following areas and hold a current registration with the overseeing governing body based on your discipline below: 

Psychology (Full registration Preferred)Occupational TherapyPhysiotherapyExercise PhysiologyRehabilitation Counsellor

We will count on you to:

Develop and monitor injured workers’ rehabilitation and return to work planAssist employers to develop and monitor return to work programsProvide advice on injury prevention and occupational rehabilitationLiaise and consult with claims staff, medical practitioners, allied health professional and employersConduct worksite assessment and training if relevant and practicableAssistance with Return to Work Assist Program

What you need to have:

Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft word, excel and outlook.Able to demonstrate an understanding of the sections of the Act and Regulation relevant to RehabilitationCommunication – ability to effectively liaise, communicate and negotiate with a wide range of personnel from public and private sectors.Decision making skills using well developed analytical and problem-solving skills
