INMATE LABOR PROGRAM ASSISTANT
Summary You will serve as an INMATE LABOR PROGRAM ASSISTANT within NAV FACILITIES ENGINEERING COMMAND SE. Responsibilities You will assist in the development of installation policies, plans, and processes to execute the Federal Civilian Inmate Labor Program. You will conduct investigations when inmate violations occur, prepares comprehensive investigation reports to the commander and the Federal Prison Camp You will ensure inmate accountability via initial roll call utilizing the detail pouch and no less that hourly physical sighting. You will assist in the management, coordination and facilitation of all aspects of the Federal Civilian Inmate Labor Program for NSA Mid-South Public Works Department (PWD) You will provide guidance to the Public Works Officer, Deputy Public Works Officer and staff for compliance with the program requirement You will ensure assigned inmates maintain proper conduct as directed by the Federal Prison Camp training curriculum You will report to the chain of command any violation/impropriety whether actual or suspected Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-05) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing detailed work assignments and instructions to Federal Prison Camp inmates; 2) Assists in developing detailed procedures for conducting and filing investigation reports; 3) Assists in reviewing the overall effectiveness of the program and recommends improvements to operation after coordinating with Federal Prison Camp and appropriate PWD staff; and 4) Assists in the development of installation policies, plans and processes to execute the Federal Civilian Inmate Labor Program Provides detailed work assignments and instructions to Federal Prison Camp inmates. Education Additional Information This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Work is performed both inside an office and outside on the range complex or the main grounds of the installation. When outside the employee is subject to inclement weather and must observe normal safety precautions when on the range complex. There is also a moderate risk of physical and verbal abuse when working with inmates on a one-to-one basis. Additional vacancies may be filled by this announcement.
