Sr. Intern – Physics and Electron Optics

The Position
We are seeking a driven student who is eager to contribute to the development of cutting-edge technology in the field of electron microscopy.
The Sr. Intern – Physics and Electron Optics plays a vital role in researching and developing new technologies to be applied in our extended
product range. This intern actively engages in technical discussions, conducts exploratory research, and tests innovative solutions to enhance
the capabilities of the system. Additionally, they are eager to acquire a comprehensive understanding of microscope operating principles,
thereby gaining a detailed and in-depth knowledge of the subject matter.
Furthermore, this person collaborates closely with System Design Engineers, Module and System-level Architects, and Software Developers
to ensure that the final functionality meets the requirements and addresses the needs of our customers.
Responsibilities
• Participation in sophisticated development projects.
• Generate and explore new optical modes and designs that enhance microscope performance
• Drive electron optics modeling in a multi-disciplinary context
• Develop new hardware and software concepts and prototype
Requirements
• The position is ideal for an innovative student with M.Sc. in Physics or Technical Physics.
• Eager to work on microscopy hardware and software development.
• Knowledge of finite element software, e.g. EOD, Comsol
• Familiarity with Python is an advantage.
• Willing to test prototypes and modeling results on microscopes
• Competent interpersonal skills in English, both verbal and written.
