Medical Social Worker - Inpatient Adolescent - Days
Position Highlights:
Position: Medical Social Worker
Hourly Pay Range: $30.46-$45.69
Location: Highland Park Hospital
Full Time/Part Time: Full-Time (40 hrs/wk)
Hours: Day shift, Monday-Friday 7:30AM-4:00PM
Required Travel: n/a
What you will do:
Provide direct social work services to patient and their families as part of the Adolescent Behavioral Health Center Psych inpatient team
Address the psychosocial needs of the patients and their families in order to enable them to participate fully in the plan of care
Completed psychosocial assessments, provides counseling/emotional support, assesses and reports cases of suspected abuse and/or neglect, advocates for patient rights (e.g. as per The Illinois Mental Health Code), and facilitates appropriate dispositions and/or arranges post-hospital services.
What you will need:
Education: Master’s degree from an accredited school of social work required
License: LSW or LCSW license required
Experience: Two years post-graduate experience preferred; healthcare and/or mental health experience preferred
Skills: Ability to work within a health care environment. Demonstrates strong team work skills. Knowledgeable regarding state and federal laws related to abuse and neglect and the Illinois Mental Health Code. Crisis Intervention Skills. Knowledgeable about Medicare, Medicaid, and other payer requirements. Demonstrated knowledge of social work ethics and confidentiality of patient information. Demonstrated knowledge of age-specific developmental issues and the ability and willingness to work with diversity.
Inpatient Adolescent clinical experience preferred
