We do this by embodying our WE CARE values. **What areas you will work:** **This position will be focused primarily in the Maternity & Obstetrics areas (Labor & Delivery, Postpartum and Special Care Nursery) with support of other Med/Surg units as needed.** **The Maternity & Obstetrics Service at Beverly Hospital provides the full scope of perinatal care in collaboration with Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, which includes prenatal evaluation of mother and fetus, intrapartum care for labor and birth, intraoperative and recovery care for an operative delivery, postpartum care, maternal/newborn care as a couplet dyad for well babies, and special care for premature and newborns requiring a higher level of care. The department includes strong interdisciplinary collaboration between Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, Newborn Nursery, Level IIB Special Care Nursery, Parent Education, Lactation Consultation and specialty programs including Moms Do Care, serving women with substance use disorders, and Connecting Young Moms, serving mothers aged 24 and under.** **As a full-time Medical Social Worker, you will be an integral part of the care coordination team, working in collaboration with RN Case Management, clinical staff, and internal/external collaterals. As a direct service provider, you will be responsible for performing psychosocial assessments, providing supportive counseling and care coordination with respect to discharge planning for primarily postpartum and newborn individuals within Maternity and Obstetrics.
