INPATIENT PHYSICIAN Job Details Level Experienced Job Location Hybrid - New York, NY Position Type Part Time Education Level Graduate Degree Salary Range $56,000.00 - $56,000.00 Salary/year Travel Percentage Negligible Job Shift Any Job Category Health Care Description Inpatient Faculty Physicians serve as managing family physicians and resident supervisors for the Inpatient Family Medicine Service at Mount Sinai Hospital during assigned shifts. While on service, inpatient faculty serve as the supervising liaison with the hospital, supervise family medicine residents, and ensure that the patient care and training meets all the quality and regulatory standards as set by the hospital and other regulatory and accrediting organizations. Inpatient faculty are available to residents during assigned overnight and weekend call. Job Duties during Inpatient Coverage + Responsible for the management of patients on the family medicine inpatient service at Mount Sinai Hospital + Responsible for the supervision of the training of family medicine residents on the family medicine inpatient service + Serves as primary departmental liaison with other departments at the hospital + Works with NYC providers (Institute and community-based) to facilitate and manage admission and discharge of patients’ information. + Ensures discharge summaries are transmitted promptly + Ensures compliance with local, state and national accreditation body regulations. + Ensures timely completion of medical records by Residents/Faculty + Complies with guidelines for documenting resident evaluations. Schedule One week of inpatient coverage per month, as well as one week of backup, and 7 nights of overnight call per month. + One week blocks start Tuesday morning and ending Monday late afternoon following handoff, and include: + 4 days of night call during the week rounding, including Friday & Saturday evenings + 3 days of night call the week before rounding, including Sunday evening Qualifications EDUCATION Required Preferred + Graduation from an LCME or USLME accredited medical school X + Graduation from an accredited residency program (FM, IM, Med-Peds) X WORK EXPERIENCE Required Preferred 2 years of inpatient clinical care X + LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION Required Preferred + Board-certified in Family Medicine, Medicine, or Med-Peds X + + COMPUTER PROFICIENCY Required Preferred + Basic computer and internet navigational skills X + Computer literacy with Windows-based operating systems and MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) X + Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) technology X
