Inpatient Therapist - PRN

The Inpatient Therapist at Mount Carmel Behavioral Health is a clinical professional that will work closely with each field throughout our facility to ensure our patients are receiving exceptional care through diagnosing/treating mental/emotional disorders, whether cognitive, affective or behavioral. At Mount Carmel Behavioral Health the Inpatient Therapist  is a challenging, dynamic and rewarding position that allows for licensed counselors or social workers to enhance your skillset, develop new capabilities, and become a recognized leader in delivering exceptional patient care and directly impacting/improving the lives of individuals and families in crisis. This position requires weekend availability. 

Functions include, but not limited to:

Provide and coordinate patient care by assessing psychotherapy needs, develop and implement psychotherapeutic theories and techniques, maintain documentation, and educate patients/families about various behavioral health conditions. Demonstrate knowledge and utilization of universal precautions in providing direct patient care. Actively participate in treatment team meetings and collaborate with various departments to facilitate services for patients. Coordinate with Intake and Clinical Services departments to assist and facilitate admission and discharge process. Exhibit therapeutic rapport with patients by maintaining professional boundaries, being respectful to personal space, giving patient direct attention and maintaining rational detachment. Communicate in therapeutic and professional manner with patients, visitors, co-workers and all involved in patient treatment. Conduct individual, group or family therapy sessions as appropriate for treatment plan of patient.

Educational/Licensure/Experience Requirements:

Master’s degree in Social Work or Human Services field. Current/valid State of Ohio Social Work or Counselor license required. One (1) or more years’ experience within psychiatric field, specifically adult and geriatric patient population preferred. CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification training required.
