Inservice RN / Infection Preventionist
Overview 10,000 Sign on Bonus The In-service/Infection Preventionist is responsible to develop and provide required educational programs for all staff in accordance with Federal, State and facility policies. The Inservice/Infection Preventionist will have a strong safety awareness for our residents and staff. S/he will be flexible in coverage of RN supervision if needed and will assume nursing leadership role in the absence of the Director of Nursing. Provides initial certification and recertification of AHA BLS for all licensed staff. In addition, the Inservice/Infection Preventionist is responsible for the implementation and administration of policies and education for the prevention and control of infections as well as maintaing compliance with accrediting, licensing and governing agency expectations related to infection prevention and control program. S/he coordinates the infection control within the confines of established policies and procedures including: surveillance, identification, and analysis of problem areas. Job Details Requirements : Education - Associates Degree in Nursing required. Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred. Licensure- Current RN license in NYS, BLS required Experience: Must have 3-5 years of Infection Control Experience, preferably long term care facility Physical Demands- Excellent verbal and listening skills required for communicating clearly and effectively with others; Ability to carry, lift and/or lower patients or equipment over 50 lbs. Ability to bend, stretch, reach, handle/finger delicate items required. Reasonable accommodations will be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential physical demands. Salary Range USD $56.00 - USD $62.00 /Hr. Performance Responsibilities: Maintains professional competency and seeks opportunity for self growth Maintains continuing education hours relevant to the clinical area Practices regular hand hygiene and complies with standard and transmission based precautions as applicable Employee aids in the orientation/mentoring of new employees Shares knowledge and expertise through education, mentoring. and huddles and/or staff meetings Supports administrative decision and changes within the department Adheres to all organizational policies and procedures Adheres to current practice guidelines for Infection Prevention Maintains appropriate record keeping and reports on a regular basis and communicates with appropriate departments and committees Performs other duties as necessary The pay for this position ranges from $56.00-$62.00 This range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
