Job Summary:

Combines inside sales/customer service and technical/systems knowledge to sell products, services and solutions to new and existing customers/account base through a variety of inbound and outbound multimedia communications (e.g., telephone, email, fax, portals). Effectively develops and manages trusted relationships for assigned customers/accounts. Promotes company options and solutions to customers on a regular basis. Identifies sales opportunities to deliver focused market/brand solutions to the customer resulting in increased market share, sales and margin for suppliers and maximizing value to the company. Consistently delivers revenue or profit that supports and drives the account/customer to meet financial sales metrics.


Principal Responsibilities:

Sell to customer by phone or email, as agreed with assigned sales region/area, using negotiating and convincing techniques in order to generate sales and to maximize gross profitability.Respond to, and answer customer email or telephone inquiries in a timely manner as part of the daily business.Maintain master customer data in respective systems.Qualify, prepare and load offers / quotations in order to respond to customers inquiries and proactively follow up in order to maximize PO placement to secure the business.Review and process customer Purchase Orders in line with SOX compliance and a timely manner in order to optimize internal costs and to ensure customer is supported in an optimal manner. Has joint responsibility for revenue and gross margin with focus on a selected number of customers.To perform proactive backlog management (monitoring of orders, shipping dates, price changes, etc.). and inform customers accordingly of possible delivery delays Coordinate technical questions with AM, FAE or other service functions. Support relevant team members collecting and preparing responses to customer inquiries, anticipating requests for quotations or others. Request information from customers concerning price, competition, etc, in order to support Asset to negotiate best price with suppliers.Interface with internal support groups like Purchasing/Procurement, Business Services, Warehouse, Credit & Collections, Quality when needed.Participate in team meetings, in-house trainings and supplier trainings / meeting.Manage customer concerns and claims and may register in the applicable system.Review and update reports as required.Occasionally visit assigned customers with FAE/AM in order to improve customer relationship.Handle samples requests from customers and provide follow-up as part of active demand creation process.Participate in sales promotional activities

Knowledge with SAP SD preferred but not essentialHigh knowledge of Microsft packages including Outlook & ExcelExcellent communication skills  Ability to apply selling techniques over the phone Ability to work with an international team environmentGood English language skills (oral and in writing) in order to fulfill internal requirements High customer service and customer focus orientatedProblem solving skills


Work Experience:

Experience in a sales environment required, preferably in electronics distribution


Education and Certification(s):

High School Diploma or equivalent


Distinguishing Characteristics:

Possesses expert knowledge of customer needs, products and complexity of business services.Exhibits the ability to identify new qualified customers for inclusion in Avnet’s portfolio of increasingly more complex accounts.Maybe required to occasionally travel to customer sites or attend training including some overnight travel.Advanced knowledge of systems such as SAP, ERP, order management.Full knowledge of Excel skills allowing for problem solving, formulas, analysis, formatting and manipulation of data.Full knowledge of QuoteFX, SupplierWin, PowerPoint, WebEx.
