Role Summary and Impact

 

This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially-minded and strategic Account Director to join our dynamic Insights team. You will be a pivotal leader, responsible for driving client growth, managing key accounts, and ensuring the successful delivery of our cutting-edge insights solutions.

As an Account Director, you will be one of the senior points of contact for our clients, responsible for building strong relationships, understanding their business challenges, and articulating the value of our full suite of insights capabilities. You will lead the response to client briefs, develop compelling proposals, and be instrumental in closing new projects.

This role requires a natural leader who can manage and inspire a team of insights professionals, while orchestrating complex projects from conception to completion. You will collaborate closely with our specialist technical teams in India (Solutions Architects, Backend Developers, BI Specialists) and our delivery teams in London to ensure our innovative data solutions are developed as planned and delivered seamlessly. Your ultimate goal is to ensure exceptional project delivery, foster high client satisfaction, and maintain strong team engagement and morale, solidifying Mindshare's position as a leader in data-driven strategy.

Commercial & Strategic Leader: You are a natural at building senior client relationships, spotting commercial opportunities, and translating complex data solutions into strategic growth drivers for clients. Influential Communicator: You excel at storytelling, articulating the value of complex technical and data-led projects to non-technical stakeholders, and influencing clients to invest in our insights solutions. Collaborative People Manager: You are an inspiring leader who can manage, mentor, and motivate a team. You foster a positive and collaborative environment that encourages high performance and keeps team morale high across different locations. Pragmatic Project Orchestrator: You are highly organised and thrive on overseeing multiple projects. You ensure every project is delivered on time, to the highest standard, and exceeds client expectations. Technically Curious: While you are not a coder, you have a strong conceptual grasp of data architecture, backend processes, and BI solutions. You are genuinely interested in how technology powers insights and can confidently discuss our technical capabilities.

Skills and Experience

Essential Criteria

Proven experience in a client-facing leadership role such as Account Director or Senior Insights Manager within a media agency, consultancy, or data-driven marketing environment. Demonstrable track record of managing and growing a portfolio of client accounts, building trusted relationships with senior stakeholders. Strong commercial acumen, with experience leading responses to briefs, writing compelling proposals, and securing new business. Proven experience in people management, including leading, mentoring, and developing a team to achieve excellence. Exceptional project management skills, with the ability to oversee complex projects and coordinate effectively between clients, onshore, and offshore technical teams. A strong understanding of the data and analytics landscape; able to confidently discuss the strategic role of data pipelines, cloud platforms (e.g., GCP), and BI tools (e.g., Looker Studio, Power BI). Deep understanding of the total marketing process and how data-driven insights inform media strategy and drive business outcomes. Passion for understanding consumer behaviour and leveraging it to create impactful client strategies. Excellent communication, presentation, and influencing skills.

Preferred Criteria

Experience working with distributed or off-shore technical teams. Experience in the media, advertising, or MarTech/AdTech industry. Familiarity with the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) ecosystem (e.g., BigQuery, Vertex AI) and its application in marketing analytics. Familiarity with AI-driven solutions and their application in extracting business insights. Experience working on projects involving consumer intent modelling, market trend analysis, or similar advanced analytical solutions.

Responsibilities

Client & Commercial Leadership: Own the client relationship on key accounts, acting as a senior strategic advisor. Lead the development of proposals and statements of work, driving commercial growth for the Insights team by identifying and closing new project opportunities. Team Leadership & Management: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Insights Managers and Analysts. Foster a collaborative and supportive team culture, manage resource allocation, and ensure high team morale and engagement. Project Delivery Oversight: Oversee the end-to-end delivery of all projects within your portfolio, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to a standard that exceeds client expectations. Strategic Collaboration: Act as the central point of contact between senior clients, the London-based insights team, and the off-shore technical team in India. Ensure seamless communication, alignment on project goals, and smooth execution. Strategic Counsel: Translate complex findings from our technical solutions into clear, compelling, and actionable strategic recommendations that address client challenges and drive their business forward. Quality Assurance: Be accountable for the quality of all client deliverables, ensuring that presentations, dashboards, and reports effectively tell a story and demonstrate tangible value. Innovation: Work with the Insights Business Director and CX Partner to contribute to the strategic direction of the team, identifying opportunities for new products, services, and process improvements.
