InSite Chemist (Haz waste tech)
+ $25-$28 + Working on site in LA at customer site + Monday-Friday 5AM - 1:30PM occasional OT; steady 8 hrs of work a day + Customer service experience + Packing medical waste on customer site **Essential Functions/Responsibilities** **Tasks** • Make waste pickups at labs as needed. • Prepare computer-generated packing lists, labels, manifests, and land disposal restrictions notifications. • Identify unknown laboratory chemicals when they are encountered. • Perform inspections of staging, accumulating and storage areas to ensure proper housekeeping procedures and compliance. • Inspect storage area for leaks or spills. • Inspect drums for compliance with labeling regulations. • Collect, segregate, and properly package waste chemicals for disposal to maximize efficiency and maintain compliance. • Sampling and profiling of new waste streams or any wastes needing analytical testing. • Prepare all necessary tracking paperwork. • Utilize CHOICE waste management software to efficiently and accurately manage waste program. • Assign proper waste codes to all materials that are designated for disposal. • Maintain and manage waste profile data. • Evaluate specialty waste materials such as gas cylinders and potentially explosive compounds and determine disposal options. **Other Duties as Assigned** **Education/Experience: Minimum Requirements** **Required/Preferred** **Education Description** **Major/Specialization** Required 2 years college or specialized training Chemistry/Biology/Environmental Science/Related **Experience:** 3 to 5 years **Alternative:** Alternative combinations of education and experience may be accepted in lieu of degree. Required/Preferred Certificate or License Required 40 Hour OSHA Training. Required Forklift Training and certification. Required Reactive Materials certification. Required DOT Training. Required CleanPack Chemist Training Course.
