Bureau Veritas Commodities and Trade Inc. is growing, and we are seeking top talent to join our Metals & Minerals Inspection Team in the Northeast Region of the USA. For this exciting and diverse role, the successful candidate will represent multiple clients in and around the Northeast Region of the USA. Reporting directly to the Northeast Regional Manager and Precious Metals Operations Manager you will be given the tools to excel in this role.
Travel to other parts of the country may be required, however, you will be based in this main region. The primary locations for this role are the surrounding Warwick, RI.

SUMMARY: To carry out and/or supervise the inspection, weighing and sampling of various commodities to pre-defined standards and scope of works, using the appropriate methods advised by the administration and Management.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Attend various locations to carry out and/or supervise the inspection, weighing and sampling of various commodities as directed by the Operations Manager and Northeast Regional Manager.
• Represent Bureau Veritas and the client in a professional manner.
• Carry out inspections/verification of materials and products by both visual and mechanical methods as directed.
• Adhere to and conform to internal safety, ethical, and internet and data security practices.
• Produce and/or supervise the production of representative analytical samples from the nominated materials in accordance with company procedures and industry best practice.
• Receive, control or dispatch (as directed) samples on behalf of Bureau Veritas and clients.
• Produce written reports on all activities to an acceptable professional standard within the set Service Level Agreement’s (SLA’s) of sampling/inspection.
• Maintain an up-to-date log of job costs incurred and hours worked to execute the nominated scope of work and update the relevant personnel of the status of each job, each day.
• Communicate business intelligence for sales opportunities to the Operations Manager and Business Development Manager as applicable.

ACCOUNTABILITIES AND PERFORMANCE MEASURES
• Must be flexible with working days/nights and times. The typical work schedule is Monday through to Friday during daylight hours. However, weekend and evening work may be required.
• Working away from home may also be required. Travel will be in accordance with company policies, ensuring that cost-effective measures are followed.
• Execute scope of work in accordance with the company standards and policies – including Health, Safety, Environmental, Sustainability, Ethics, and Quality Management Systems.
• Ensure that all site work is carried out in accordance with local site rules and appropriate Bureau Veritas risk management procedures every day.
• Ensure that personal protective equipment and other equipment is used as required and is well maintained at all times.
• Represent and promote the name of Bureau Veritas by acting in a responsible and professional manner at all times.
• Ensure the administration team is fully informed of job progress daily.
Immediately report to the relevant administration team members and any deviation or failure in the work being witnessed - to protect the interests of Bureau Veritas and its clients.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:
• An associate degree or above is desirable, however, a high school diploma or General Education Development diploma (GED) will be considered for the right candidate.
• Ability to read and interpretate safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals are essential.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals is essential.
• A Self-motivated and disciplined individual who enjoys being in the field will suit this role. You will need to be comfortable with the Interaction of site management and staff.
• Good time management, organization, and prioritization skills.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Ability to work in remote locations and adapt to problems as situations arise.
• Excellent written, verbal and email communication skills are essential for this role.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and also Teams are essential.
• Proven ability to balance multiple competing priorities, meet deadlines, and be responsive is a key skill requirement for this role.
• Willingness to excel, learn and adapt to changing conditions is also essential.
• Demonstrate technical ability in sampling, measurement, and inspection of commodities.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Maintain a valid driver’s license, and be able to obtain a U.S. Passport at all times.
