**Job Description** **Position Title:** Inspection Field Technician III-V **OPEN UNTIL FILLED** **Department/Location:** Maintenance/Beulah, ND **Company:** Dakota Gasification Company **Position Purpose:** Perform inspections to ensure the safe and reliable operation of the facility’s fixed equipment. Inspections include detecting and quantifying damage to equipment and for quality assurance of maintenance activities. **Essential Functions:** + Performs visual internal and external inspections on vessels, piping, tanks and weldments. + Performs nondestructive testing (VT, MT, UT, and PT). + Generates reports related to equipment inspections, general findings and repairs. + Conduct ultrasonic thickness readings and analyze data to establish corrosion rates and estimate remaining life. + Conducts Quality Control on weld procedures, code repairs, pressure testing and contract inspection activities. **Qualifications:** + High school diploma or equivalent (GED or HSED). + Associate’s degree in Non-Destructive Testing or + Minimum of one year experience as a ASNT level II in Non-Destructive Examination. + Ability to read, write, perform mathematical calculations and follow and comprehend instructions + Knowledge and understanding of the inspection and repair of plant equipment. + **Knowledge or certification of any or all of the following codes:** API 510, 570, and 653, AWS, NBIC and ASME, is preferred. + A valid driver’s license. + Resume required. + The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed in this job. Grip strength of 40 pounds is required. Occasional lifting and carrying as well as pushing and pulling up to 57 pounds, bending and reaching above and below shoulder level, and crawling into confined spaces. Approximately 70 percent of the incumbent’s shift is spent outdoors. This position is frequently exposed to noise, dirt, dust, chemicals, extreme heat and cold; and occasionally exposed to vibration, poor ventilation and confined areas. Frequently requires working in high climbing areas on grating, ladders, scaffolding and other areas requiring use of safety equipment and may involve work in confined areas. Requires binocular and color vision and the ability to hear and speak. Requires the ability to perform close work, finger dexterity, use of keyboard or computer, small hand tools and inspection equipment, and foot controls.
