Position Summary
Monitor the gaming enterprise to ensure compliance with applicable Federal, State, Tribal laws and regulations. Provides detailed, concise reports to the Executive Director as necessary to document compliance with applicable regulations. Ensure critical deadlines are met by the Gaming enterprise. Perform ongoing and follow-up evaluations of the internal controls, policies, procedures, and game rules for proper accountability and the safeguarding of assets.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Monitor the casino operations (gaming and gaming related) to determine its compliance with applicable Federal, State, Tribal laws and regulations, controls, policies, and procedures. Provide and deliver oral and written reports with findings and recommendations to the Executive Director. Perform audits and inspections on the gaming enterprise and its personnel to assess compliance with applicable Federal, State, and Tribal laws, regulations, controls, policies, and procedures. Perform ongoing evaluations of the internal controls, policies, procedures, and game rules for proper accountability, the safeguarding of assets, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Review management’s requests to purchase gaming equipment or associated gaming equipment prior to submission to the Gaming Commissioners for action. Conducts special investigations of irregularities detected by periodic audits or brought to the attention of STGC by other sources. Review reports generated by governmental agencies and/or contracted audit firms regarding annual audits and inspections of the gaming operation. Direct and/or monitor responses to ensure appropriate actions are taken to address findings. Maintain and account for sensitive gaming software. Monitor GLI, BMM and IRIS system applications to ensure integrity of gaming software are Approved and without a Non-Mandatory upgrade or Revoked status. Perform audits to test the integrity of gaming equipment as required by Federal Regulation, NM Gaming Compact or Tribal regulations. Review and analyze monthly revenue audit reports for fluctuations and discrepancies. Audit casino’s promotional concepts to verify compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and fairness to the patrons. Assist independent auditors as required. Punctual and regular attendance is an essential responsibility for all team members and are expected to report to work based upon the assigned schedule each day in accordance with the Attendance Policy for Pueblo of Sandia.Additional Responsibilities
Supports a single function and holds a position that does not supervise people but provides guidance to lower-level Team Members as needed. Functions as an advisor to management due to the complexity of the level of work performed. May hold current licenses, certifications, specialized education, and possess stipulated technical expertise as required. Demonstrates advanced knowledge in all aspects of the specialized function. Performs work as a highly skilled individual contributor and considered a subject matter expert within the peer set, particularly with problem-solving. Critical thinking and the ability to analyze issues, identify solutions, and implement them effectively.Key Performance Indicators
This position has Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) identified as a measurement of success. KPI’s will be shared with all team members who work in this job title and feedback will be provided regarding the successful completion of the KPI’s as part of the performance review process.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Good computer skills. Good knowledge of working with computerized systems (gaming preferred). Excellent mathematical skills and aptitude. Must understand the basic principles of accounting. Above average written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to work accurately and within designated timelines. Good problem-solving skills. Required
High School Diploma, GED certification or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business or related field.Preferred
Four (4) years of accounting or related experience.Note: Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling four (4) years may substitute for the required education.
License/Certifications/Registrations
Must possess and maintain a valid, unrestricted New Mexico Driver’s License. Must be able to successfully pass a stringent background investigation. Will require a pre-employment and random drug screening.Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
