SUMMARY

This position is responsible for performing product inspections to determine conformance with specifications and packaging these products according to customer requirements.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Ensure safety procedures are followed at all times and immediately report unsafe working conditions or mechanical safety problems to the Shift Supervisor. Understand the product line.  Know the function of the product and any potential product defects that can adversely affect the function or application of the product. Perform production verifications at the start of an order and each shift. Perform the required visual inspections at the beginning of each shift and at the interval specified in the data acquisition software.  Immediately notify the Manufacturing Coordinator if any defects are found. Utilize the data acquisition software to determine which gauging (if necessary) must be performed during the production run to ensure quality standards are met. Keep accurate documentation in the data acquisition software during the production run. Inspect parts on the conveyor belts and in product containers throughout the shift, and perform liner inspections as required. If applicable, periodically check the glue tank level to ensure a proper supply of glue is available to the machine. Properly package and handle the production per the assigned manufacturing specification. Accurately record scrap and place the scrap in the proper containers. Assist in the performance of machine startups, shutdowns and line clearances.Keep machine downtime to a minimum. Keep the workstation clean and neat at all times by utilizing good housekeeping practices. Participate in Lean and Safety programs. Follows applicable Food Safety and cGMP polices.Assist in the training of fellow associates.Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent preferredStrong organizational and interpersonal communication skills (written & oral). Ability to work with minimal supervision and to follow both written and verbal instructions and techniques. Previous manufacturing experience is preferred.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS                                       

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. 

 

REASONING ABILITY                                               

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
