WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
Building and Maintaining effective relationships with Customers. This Includes meeting with customers at MCA locations and at customer locations.Design solutions for specific customer requirements.Prepare quotations and presents to customers.Building effective relationships within the MCA team and providing coaching and mentoring.
• Supervise and teach the install team. Requires knowledge for connecting electrical fittings, drilling holes, soldering, and performing all physical tasks associated with modifying vehicles for the acceptance of emergency-related equipment.
Supervise and mentor the install team by installing and overseeing electrical wiring, antenna systems, route antenna, data, and power cabling, and applying a variety of electrical connectors. Leading and verifying uplift/installation work to be completed to meet customer quality standards. Troubleshooting and diagnosing problems with equipment as necessary. Maintaining a safe and clean environment including orderly of tools. Learning new products, skills techniques from colleagues and manufacturers. Completing all required paperwork and documentation. Maintaining customer confidence by keeping service information confidential. Equipment typically installed by MCA Team in Vehicles: Motorola Radios and Watchguard Video, Whelen, Federal, and Sound Off Lighting Systems and Sirens, Stalker Radar, Havis, Pro-gard, and Truck Vault Upfitting Equipment.WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE TEAM:
5+ years of technical experience, or a combination of related education/experience. Experience and understanding of Vehicle wiring for installation of equipment.Knowledge and experience with the vehicle installation of systems/equipment within various vehicle types, such as 2-way radios, controls, lighting, cameras, antennas, GPS, sirens, and other relevant devices/public safety equipment. Ability to coordinate and prioritize schedules. Understanding of the billing and Return to Manufacturer (RMA) process. Proficient ability to test/troubleshoot electrical and system issues. Proficient ability to assemble/disassemble, properly route wiring, connect electrical fittings, install wiring harnesses, drill holes, solder, and perform the physical tasks associated with the vehicle upfits and installations. Proficient understanding of DC voltage, resistance, and current. Proficient understanding of wire gauges and fuses based on DC current demand. Proficient ability to use basic tools and test equipment, including hand tools, power drillers, multi-meters, and watt meters. Proficient with using computer software and e-mail. Capable of preparing quotations using vendor websites.
YOUR ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The physical environment requires the employee to work inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to frequently stand, walk, sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear; utilize personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to potentially hazardous materials, lift (overhead, waist level) from the floor, bending, frequently utilize near vision use for reading and computer use; be able to handle semi-frequent stressful conditions (cardiovascular), frequently work in outdoor weather conditions, frequently move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, occasionally ascend/descend a ladder, operate a motor vehicle, frequently position self to maintain computers or other equipment as needed.
