Installation Manager (IM)

 

Job Description

 

OPEX Corporation is seeking a high-level Installation Manager responsible for managing client and product support.  

The IM will be involved in all stages of installing sizeable, automated warehouse storage and retrieval systems and conveying equipment. This person assists other managers during the pre-installation phase, the commissioning and integration processes, and the handing over of the full-functioning system to the field service department.

Site surveys are part of the IM’s responsibilities to asses the installation feasibility and report any potential concerns or challenges to the project coordinator and our engineering department, as well as early engagement with the customer and vendors to provide guidance and support leading up to the physical installation.

This position requires domestic and potentially international travel to support active and future installation sites.

The IM coordinates with the installation foreman and project coordinators to provide the labor and any additional support required throughout the installation, commissioning, integration, and transition into production. 

 

Responsibilities

 

Oversee the installation, support commissioning, product integration, and client relationship. Develop strategies to streamline the project processes and reduce costs. Manage long-term deliverables of physical installations, including the realization of project milestones and meeting contractual commitments. Responsible for distributing active project material, installation support equipment, and installation personnel. Responsible for overseeing the installation planning, logistical support, and product acceptance testing.  Will manage short and long-term planning and priority strategies. Resolve any arising problems or complaints related to active projects or communicate the issue to the next management level. Will frequently visit active installation sites. 

 

Requirements & Qualifications

 

Self-motivated with strong influencing skills Strong Relationship builder and excellent at cross-functional day-to-day interaction or project work Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills Technical understanding of material handling equipment installations and a strong project management skill set. Must have experience with material handling, conveying, and industrial automation equipment. Electromechanical experience is preferred. Must have proven leadership abilities with previous experience in a managerial role. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are required. Must have prior experience with administration and management of remote teams. Proven ability to deliver projects within constraints of schedules and budgets is required. Must be able to travel for extended periods.

 

Physical/Work Environment

 

Will be working on-site during installations of automated material handling systems.
