The Institutional Marketing Specialist oversees interdisciplinary processes of proposal generation for business development opportunities and customized response development for due diligence inquiries. Implements a sound and strategic approach to each proposal or questionnaire response, commonly referred to as Requests for Proposal (RFPs), Requests for Information (RFIs) and Due Diligence Questionnaires (DDQs). Identifies the viability of new business opportunities, understands related regulatory issues, interprets subtle variations in questions, and coordinates all appropriate resources from across the firm. Works under some supervision and makes independent decisions, escalating to Manager as appropriate.
ResponsibilitiesWhat you will do:
Manages the RFP/RFI/DDQ process and workflow from receipt of request to delivery of final product within the required time frame. Works with sales team for lead qualification, product positioning, and strategizing. Crafts and customizes compelling RFP responses to position Fort Washington at a competitive advantage.Responsible for the quality and continuity of the firm's product narratives within the following: internal content management platform, third party databases, marketing collateral, and all publicly facing material. As needed, will produce custom product presentations and create digital and print collateral for the purpose of marketing the firm's products and services, and update as required.Facilitates communication with cross-functional teams within the firm from Marketing, Sales, Compliance, Investment Management, Client Service, Operations and Human Resources as well as external partners as needed in the process of completing RFPs, DDQs, RFIs, etc.Develops accurate and persuasive investment strategy positioning and messaging for RFPs, RFIs, presentations, and digital assets.Develops and maintains “standardized proposals” for each institutional investment strategy.Maintains content within the RFP/RFI content management platform. This includes ensuring outdated responses are deleted or inactive and new updates are applied as quickly as possibleEnsures continuity of product messaging across all third party databases.Proactively recommends enhancements to improve the quality of product messaging.Collects and interprets data regarding trends in the issuance of RFPs and the effectiveness of the firm's responses.Maintains a working knowledge of corporate and industry compliance regulations that affect the production and dissemination of sales materials. Works collaboratively with Compliance Department to ensure materials disseminated to clients, potential clients and consultants complies with applicable regulations.Monitors projects and activities and regularly reports progress/status to management and tracks via department's project database.Performs other duties as assigned.Complies with all policies and standards. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, English or a strong Liberal Arts background or commensurate experience. (Required)Advanced degree (i.e. MBA, MS). (Preferred)Demonstrated successful previous experience and training where preparation of written materials and coordination of highly visible client and promotional events have been completed. Demonstrated strong proposal writing experience. Excellent copy-editing skills, especially with complex financial concepts.Demonstrated excellent verbal, presentation and written communication skills with ability to convey information to internal and external customers in a clear, focused and concise manner. Effectively interacts and communicates with all levels of staff and management.Proven experience coordinating multiple projects/assignments simultaneously, and completing assigned tasks accurately and on a timely basis. Must demonstrate strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills. Expected to cite examples of organization and time management methods used to manage or prioritize workload demands. Must demonstrate project management experience in planning, executing and maintaining a project from start to finish.Proven strong quantitative and analytical skills, including demonstrated experience identifying, defining and resolving complex problems, and collecting or intepreting data to establish facts and draw valid conclusions to provide effective resolutions. Proven experience with sound and independent decision-making and initiative skills when dealing with multiple alternatives. Demonstrated ability to conceptualize and apply new methodologies.Demonstrated experience maintaining a calm and professional demeanor when handling challenging situations. Must provide examples of handling difficult situations effectively while maintaining high volumes of work.Demonstrated ability to handle and maintain confidential information.Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office products (particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Sharepoint) as well as the ability to learn how to use new applications quickly, including the firm's RFP software and project management software.Certification from APMP (Preferred)Work Setting/Position Demands:
