Instructional Design & Development Specialist

Overview:


The Bonadio Group is seeking a dynamic and creative Instructional Design & Development Specialist to join our Learning & Development team. This role is responsible for collaborating with Subject Matter Experts (SME’s) to design and develop innovative, high-impact learning programs that support both technical upskilling and leadership development across the firm. The ideal candidate brings strong instructional design expertise, a learner-first mindset, and the ability to craft engaging, scalable learning experiences tailored to diverse audiences.


Responsibilities:

Partner with Learning and Development Specialists, SMEs and key stakeholders to execute learning program objectives, while owning the instructional design components.

Design, develop and refresh learning content for both technical competencies and leadership development programs, including e-learning modules, instructor-led training materials, job aids, and assessments.

Utilize instructional design principles to create engaging and interactive learning experiences that promote knowledge retention and application.

Incorporate interactive elements and adult learning principles to drive engagement and retention.

Act as a trusted learning advisor by partnering with SMEs and internal stakeholders on instructional design best practices, learning methodologies, and scalable development strategies. Provide proactive recommendations to ensure learning solutions are aligned with firm needs and drive measurable impact.

Partner with the VP of Learning and Organizational Development to develop and implement a scalable coaching curriculum that advances the firm-wide initiative to cultivate a culture of coaching.

Coordinate with the Learning Technology Manager to ensure LMS ready deliverables.

Edit and refine training videos and recordings, ensuring high-quality production standards. Contribute to the design and creation of video content, ensuring that materials are engaging, informative, and accessible for all learners.

Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in instructional design and accounting regulations to ensure training materials are current and relevant.

Manage multiple projects simultaneously, adhering to timelines and budgets.


Qualifications:

A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in instructional design, learning and development, or related field.

A minimum of five years’ experience in instructional design, preferably within the accounting or financial services industry.

Strong knowledge of adult learning theories and instructional design methodologies (e.g., ADDIE, SAM).

Proficiency with e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate) and learning management systems (LMS) (e.g., Workday Learning).

Prior coaching experience or recognized coaching accreditation (e.g., ICF certification) is a plus.

Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Creative thinking and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as part of a team.

Experience with graphic design and multimedia development is a plus.

Hours of Operation:

Our office hours are from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday

Our summer hours are from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Friday  

We pride ourselves on our flexibility; however, the ability to work additional hours will be needed at peak times
