The Operations Training team supports the Operations at Walt Disney World Resort by using our expertise to provide strategic and innovative learning solutions to prepare, develop, and enable our Cast to deliver incredible experiences for our Guests. Our objective is to ensure our Cast members earn their ears to be successful in their operational roles and inspire the beginning of their Disney journey.
The Instructional Design Project Manager will create and develop core training and specialized program content for all lines of business. They will use critical thinking and problem-solving to build effective training materials, activities, and relevant learning solutions to ensure learning content is retained and relevant.

This position will report to the Manager of Instructional Design.
What You Will DoBuild deep knowledge and understanding of multiple businesses to interpret needs and challenges, proactively recommend sophisticated learning solutions, and determine readiness for these solutions in close collaboration with senior management.Leverage knowledge gained from research, observations, and existing training experiences to enable effective consultation with key clients.Consult and lead collaborative discussions with business leaders and internal stakeholders to develop engaging and holistic learning strategies to make innovative training solutions that drive value, build skills and capabilities, and encourage accountability for Cast and Leadership.Effectively communicate and influence multiple levels of leadership to drive alignment on training recommendations that support the defined business need.Ensure compliance with legal, safety, regulatory, and business regulations.Maintain a clear understanding of various participant learning styles to present the best teaching and learning environment for diverse participants.Initiate and manage throughout the lifecycle of a project, including initiation, designing project plans, executing all milestones and tasks, monitoring risk, and successfully reaching stated learning goalsCurate and assemble content across a variety of different types of learning experiences such as virtual instructor-led, in-person learning experiences, and self-directed learningAuthor scripts and other course materials, applying various writing styles and demonstrating expertise in grammar, punctuation, spelling, company nomenclature, and copyright complianceBuild and continuously review in-person, computer-based, and video assets for accuracy and quality ensuring content reflects Cast Member needs.Provide creative direction and collaborate with the Graphics/Multi-media team to create visually engaging training productsManage the piloting and testing of training content – assessing needs and gathering feedback amongst various stakeholdersRequired Qualifications & SkillsExperience creating learning solutions using instructional design models and techniquesPresentation skillsExcellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills are required, as well as knowledge of how to write and produce videoAbility to work with ambiguity and agility in a constantly evolving environmentAbility to present a clear, thorough content strategy to various audiences and articulate how this approach supports the learning objectives definedAbility to quickly absorb organizational nuances and “speak the language” of the clientAbility to gain credibility and influence executive audiences through communication skillsProject management experience/skills, with a high level of organization and the ability to prioritize multiple projects at once with little directionExperience writing in a professional setting including but not limited to stories, project plans, storyboards, technical skills, designs, and/or content for learning experiencesAbility to understand business strategy and translate it into learning solutionsExperience developing both in-person, computer-based, and video trainingLead development of training experiences, including guidance towards graphic design and video componentsUnderstanding of adult learning principles and hands-on experiential learning activitiesPreferred Qualifications3+ years experience in Project Management.3+ years of experience as an Instructional DesignerDisney experience, including managing Operations Cast MembersExperience with Articulate StorylineMaster's degree or equivalent experienceEducationBachelor’s degree in a related field (Content/Instructional Design, Organizational Design, or Communications) or equivalent work experienceAdditional InformationDisney offers a rewards package to help you live your best life.
