• Helps develop high-level design documents, storyboards, and audio narration scripts.
• Develops effective, interactive learning solutions, mapped to learning objectives and business performance goals.
• Develops courseware for live (i.e., instructor-led), online (i.e., synchronous virtual, asynchronous), or blended delivery platforms.
• Incorporates technology and adult learning theory to broaden appeal of learning solutions (i.e. Web 2.0, audio, voice-over, video, graphics, simulations, animations, scenarios, gamification, etc.).
• Develops content compatible with technical standards for accessibility as outlined in WCAG (currently v2.0) and Section 508 (US).
• Develops content compatible with LMS standards (i.e. SCORM, AICC, or Tin Can/Experience API).
• Revises and updates courseware as needed.
• Responsible for understanding and complying with all policies, procedures, and regulations relating to job duties.
• Works under immediate supervision.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
• At least one year’s experience as an Instructional Designer, writing scenario-based, interactive, multi-media-based, and virtual instructor-led courseware.
• Experience and understanding of adult learning theory, methods, and techniques.
• Experience with ADDIE or other instructional system design models.
• Experience with courseware rapid development tools (e.g., Adobe Captivate, Adobe Presenter, Lectora Inspire, Camtasia Studio, Articulate Studio, Articulate Storyline, or equivalent).
• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (e.g., Acrobat, Photoshop, and Illustrator).
• Experience with distance learning tools, virtual classroom platforms (e.g., Adobe Connect, Webex) and learning management systems (e.g., Saba, Moodle, CourseMill, SharePointLMS).
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Other Characteristics:
• Proficient with Microsoft Office tools including Publisher, Visio, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Proven, effective communication skills including technical writing.
• Possesses detail-oriented project management skills with an emphasis on prioritization and attention to multiple deadlines.
• Self-learner with a demonstrated interest to stay current/ahead of learning technology and methodologies.
• Proven collaboration and customer service skills with internal/external partners (team, SMEs, and business partners).
• Must be detail-oriented with a concern for quality expressed by continually initiating system and process improvements.
• Ability to adapt to a flexible schedule and changing priorities.
• Ability to prioritize and organize work in a multitasked environment.
