Within our team, we produce online training content tailored to specific business units' products and support the onboarding of acquired companies to MSIs the customer and internal training portals by designing and delivering online and instructor-led content.
Job Description
Motorola Global Education is seeking a dynamic Instructional Designer to update, maintain, and grow a portfolio of product knowledge, installation, and configuration courses. As part of the Global Education team, you will create, publish, and maintain online courses and instructional materials that are learner-focused and product-specific.
If successful, you will help grow the reach and scope of the courses you update and create by meeting Motorola Solutions’ learning, content quality, and marketing standards and publishing to the Motorola Solutions Learning Management system.
As an Instructional Designer, you will:
Collaborate with subject matter experts to clearly understand the usage and intent of new features, translating them into effective online training
Work closely with subject matter experts and your team to update and create course outlines
Write assessment questions that accurately measure learners’ comprehension of the training material
Update, maintain, and create engaging and effective online training content
Develop compelling training materials for instructor-led sessions
Publish online content in HTML5, video, and SCORM formats to learning management systems
Handle other similar responsibilities based on business needs
To excel in this role, you should have:
Degree or certification in education, adult education, visual communication, technical communication, instructional design, instructional technology, curriculum studies, or a related field
Multimedia Content Creation Experience:
1+ years of experience creating multimedia content, particularly for technical and product training
Proficiency with tools such as Adobe Suite, Camtasia, Articulate Storyline, and Vyond
Learning Design Expertise:
Demonstrated knowledge of learning design and development models
Familiarity with adult learning principles and effective online delivery methods
In addition to the qualifications, you should possess the following skills:
Verbal and Written Communication Skills:
Excellent ability to write clearly and concisely for a corporate audience
Organizational Skills:
Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
Creativity:
Ability to be creative while adhering to learning, content quality, and marketing standards
Graphic Design Tools:
Working knowledge of graphic editors such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, or Adobe InDesign
Google Suite and Microsoft Office:
Proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office applications
Learning Management Systems (LMS):
Experience with one or more LMS platforms preferred
Project Management:
Ability to coordinate and organize tasks to meet project schedules and goals
Target Base Salary Range: $65,000 - $70,000 CAD
