What you need to know Salary: $4,617.66/Month Other Requirements or Other Factors: Persons in this position are considered essential when the University declares an emergency, campus closure, class cancellations, etc., and are therefore required to report to work and remain on duty unless/until relieved by the direct supervisor. May require working alternate shifts, holidays, weekends, or on-call duty. Provides quality customer service to internal and external customers/clients. Required Education and Experience: + Bachelor's degree in education or equivalent combination of education and experience. + Five years of related experience. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: + Excellent verbal and written communication skills. + Experience with leading/co-leading interdisciplinary teams. + Present information clearly and concisely. + An exemplary level of accomplishment as measured against the contribution of others of similar rank in his or her field. + Professional conduct conducive to a collegial work environment and standards of professional integrity that will advance the interests of Texas A&M University. + Evidence of a strong commitment to maintaining the level of competence in research expected of a faculty member. Preferred Qualifications: + Experience writing and obtaining grant proposals and/or contracts. + Ability to collect and interpret learning analytics from learning management systems. + Ability to promote and recruit learners to participate in training opportunities. + Ability to train faculty and staff. + Master's degree in instructional design, educational technology, or education. + Certified in eLearning development if the applicant doesn’t have a master’s degree in instructional design, educational technology, or education. Responsibilities: + Instructional Design: Provide instructional design expertise for the Center for Educational Technologies extramural grant projects. Co-author instructional/learning materials with one or more subject matter experts or faculty. This includes writing video scripts, defining learning objectives, and developing various instructional activities (e.g., web-based instruction, instructional videos, interactive face-to-face exercises) in online, face-to-face, and blended learning contexts. Co-author formative and summative assessments with one or more subject matter experts or faculty. Follow established instructional development protocols, project management processes, and operating procedures. + Leadership in Instructional Development: Lead groups of multimedia specialists (e.g., videographers, graphic designers, programmers, and LMS administrators) to develop a cohesive curriculum that allows learners to demonstrate mastery of the learning objectives. Coordinate activities closely with other team members to ensure research project objectives are delivered on time, within budget, and meet the sponsor’s needs. Responsible for ensuring that areas of the instructional materials follow contract requirements, as well as with The Texas A&M University System policies and regulations, PCI security standards, and/or other applicable standards such as FERPA, HIPAA, ADA, and copyright laws, and the State of Texas Administrative Code (TAC) 202. Work with faculty to assess the effectiveness of course materials and pedagogies. + Supervision: Supervise (under)graduate students. May supervise full-time staff. Trains, supervises, assists and assigns tasks to (under)graduate students. + Training: Provide leadership in developing subject matter experts or faculty understanding and use of instructional technology. Assist subject matter experts or faculty with designing, developing, delivering, and evaluating learning materials. Work with subject matter experts and/or faculty to analyze learning needs to ensure the appropriateness of online, blended, and in-person instructional materials according to research-based practices. Contribute, as needed, to preparing manuscripts, grant proposals, and publishable reports for conferences and journal presentations.
