Instructional Systems Designer III (ISD III)

SUMMARY

Support the development, and delivery of Interactive Multi-Media Instruction (IMI) and Computer Based Training (CBT). Products include training media in multi-media, virtual, game-based, and distributive training environments.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Establish methodologies, processes and working group interaction in all stages of IMI and CBT development to ensure reliable and repeatable results. Re-engineering of classroom style training content to modern delivery methods.  Performance Learning Objectives (LO) and job sheets of selected courses must be captured through existing schoolhouse content. Gaps must then be identified and filled through interviewing/observing instructor provided Subject Matter Expertise (SMEs). As all the requirements are defined, the most appropriate modern training media is established for development based on quantifiable learning science. Design and develop blended learning materials that include sound instructional design methodology, appropriate training strategies, and participant activities for small and large groups. Develop engaging training materials for a variety of delivery methods, including instructor-led, computer-based, web-based, and mobile training. Authoring Instructional Materials (AIM) Content Planning Module (CPM) Learning Object Module (LOM) usage. Research and identify data sources for instructional material development and additional information needed for instructor and participant materials (e.g., Student and Instructor Guides). Produce innovative, efficient, interactive, and engaging IMI and CBT courseware. Assist in the implementation and execution of a quality assurance plan. Incorporate various assessment and practical application exercises. Assist analysis and production team in analysis, design, and development of training systems/materials (e.g., MIL-PRF-29612, MIL-HDBK-29612, and DOD/Navy guidance documents). Develop/update Programs of Instruction/Courses of Instruction. Incorporate learning theory, motivation theory, and new methods/techniques. Maintain regular and punctual attendance. Perform other duties as assigned.
