The Instructional Technology Specialist serves as a member of the CGS Instructional Design team responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of high quality and technologically complex undergraduate online courses and programs in the College of General Studies. This position reports to the Assistant Director of Online Learning and works collaboratively with CGS instructional designers and faculty to provide technical expertise and promote the integration of instructional technologies in the undergraduate online classroom. This position creates, upgrades, and enhances learning products including videos, screencasts, podcasts, study aids, online presentations, print resource materials, simulations, and interactive applications, using best practices established in the educational technology industry.
Develops curricula and instructional programs and integrates appropriate instructional technologies in the development of online courses and trainings. Consults and collaborates with educators, researchers, and other training program affiliates on integration, data, and design. Oversees functionality of the online Learning Management System. Prepares audiovisual presentations and provides end-user support.

The employee must be able to use a computer and keyboard, and be able to use video communication technology. Work is frequently conducted by email, telephone, or using video communication technology. The ability to communicate in a clear, concise, and positive manner to the diverse needs of faculty regarding online course and program development is essential.
