Position Summary: The Department of Mathematics & Statistics at Arkansas State University invites applications for a three-year Postdoctoral Fellow beginning Fall 2025 (with some flexibility in the start date). The successful candidate will work closely with a variety of constituents on campus regarding student success. Specific job responsibilities include teaching within the department at the developmental level, researching best practices for student success at this level of mathematics, developing student success strategies and initiatives based on research and in collaboration with current initiatives on campus, and training faculty in best practices for student success. A-State will provide the postdoc with access to a wide variety of opportunities, including professional development (e.g., grant writing), access to the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning, and support for participation in appropriate conferences. Arkansas State University is located in Jonesboro, AR, a friendly and affordable city in Northeast Arkansas. The Department of Mathematics and Statistics offers general education and service courses as well as courses that support degree programs in actuarial science, mathematics, mathematics education, and statistics. Our faculty are devoted to teaching, maintaining strong research programs, and actively participating in local and national professional societies in mathematics and statistics. Duties & Responsibilities: + Teach courses at the developmental or general education level + Collaborate with the various programs and departments on campus regarding student success + Train faculty in best practices for student success in mathematics courses + Curriculum development aligned with research-based practices in undergraduate mathematics courses + Other duties as assigned Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Commitment and dedication to student success Excellent written and oral communication skills Ability to work in a team General Days/Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Additional hours as requested and/or needed Regular and reliable attendance Other: Please note: all position postings close at 12:00 A.M. CST on the position closing date Minimum Qualifications: Candidates must have a PhD in mathematics education, curriculum and instruction, higher education, mathematics, statistics, or a closely related field.
