**Pay Range:** $10.00 - $60.00 per hour
Summary The Department of Communication Disorders & Sciences (CDS) in the College of Health Sciences is seeking an outstanding individual with expertise in the areas of speech, language and swallowing disorders of pediatrics and adults, who will exemplify the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures, to join the faculty in speech-language pathology at the rank of Instructor. This position provides excellent opportunities for clinical teaching, teaching, research, and scholarship Responsibilities The successful candidate will hold a faculty appointment at the rank of Instructor in CDS. This individual will serve as the clinical supervisor in SCOPE SLP program and co-teach courses in CDS as necessary, and provide clinical services in the SLP Faculty Clinic, and participate in college, departmental, and other professional service activities. The candidate will serve as an effective academic advisor and clinical preceptor to Rush graduate students.
1. Full-time SCOPE Clinical Supervisor
2 . On-site in SCOPE Clinic 1-2 days per week
3. Understand, respect, and support the administrative structure and roles in SCOPE Clinic
4. Meet with the SCOPE Director once a semester to evaluate performance goals set for the year or as needed
5 . Attend Clinical Rounds in-person
6 . Attend all faculty meetings
7 .Participate in all assigned CDS committee activities
8. Demonstrate exemplary professionalism in all interactions and communication with faculty, students, and community members
9. Meet all professional workload and quality of required services of this position
10. Communicate in a timely fashion with the SCOPE Director on all aspects related to the function of SCOPE Clinic
11. Meet the needs of SLP clinical education and work collaboratively, flexibly and actively based on the request by the Clinical Education Manager and SCOPE Director each semester
12 . Provide high quality supervision
13 . Using the tools and technology available in SCOPE Clinic develop a supervision style that meets the Rush clinical education model, establishing clearly for each level of students’ clinical education goals, realizing this is high intensity training clinic unique to Rush programs
14 . Actively engage and lead students in activities under the SCOPE mission, particularly in clinical student teaching and promoting community outreach
15. Work with student GAs to maintain the clinical materials in good order including the needs for new forms and tests
16.Embrace the Rush SLP training model and work with the SCOPE Director and faculty to actively grow and expand the patient population and types of specialized clinical experience that make Rush SLP education program unique
**Required Job Qualifications:**
Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology and evidence of teaching and research potential. Candidates should possess the CCC-SLP and be eligible for Illinois licensure in speech-language pathology. Expertise in Spanish is strongly desired, and clinical experience in speech, language and swallowing disorders in both pediatric and adult populations, particularly in medical settings, is preferred.
