McGovern Medical SchoolatUTHealth Houston, a leading academic health center, invites applications for a full-time part-time (1.0 FTE), non-tenure clinical track Instructor position in the Department ofNeurosurgeryOpen Cerebrovascular/Endovascular Neurosurgery program. The selected candidate will serve in a two-year Instructor position from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2027.
UTHealth Houston, in collaboration withMemorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center, utilizes state-of-the-art technology and facilities. Its advanced Vascular Neurosurgery team is nationally recognized as leaders in the field and provides a complete range of advanced procedures.
**Position Key Accountabilities:**
· Use their detailed knowledge of catheter technology, radiological imaging, and clinical expertise to diagnose and treat diseases of the central nervous system.
· Manage patients with neurological diseases, perform simple and complex open surgical and interventional endovascular procedures, and integrate these techniques into the surgical therapy of patients with complex vascular and neoplastic diseases.
· Perform clinical pre-procedural evaluations of patients, interpret preliminary diagnostic studies, consult with clinicians on other services, generate procedural reports, and participate in short-term and long-term post-procedure follow-up care, including neuro-intensive care.
· Cover (endo)vascular calls with the attending physicians, participate in operative cases, oversee post-operative management, and perform daily rounds with attending faculty and on-service residents.
· Manage pre- and post-op care of patients in the surgical and outpatient clinic settings.
· Participate in a series of weekly didactic conferences with the Department. Independent research projects are encouraged, and protected research time will be available.
**Qualifications:**
The selected candidate must have a Texas Medical License or be eligible for a Texas Faculty Temporary License. Required or preferred board certification/eligibility statement. The candidate will have completed an ACGME-accredited residency program and demonstrate an interest in research and a preference for an academic career.
