Functions in the area of outpatient care and clinical support operations for the Division of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery: primarily the transgender health program population. Works in partnership with the Plastic Surgery and Urology faculty and to provide excellent clinical care and customer service in the outpatient settings. Works to provide services to further the University’s missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, and public service as well as the division’s/hospital’s goal of providing effective, efficient care. Primary Location will be at Orenco Station.
Function/Duties of PositionProvide electrolysis teaching, consultation and treatment in the outpatient setting. Primary electrolysis site will be genital areas. This includes, but is not limited to: independently seeing patients for consultation, new patient and return visits, and being available to take all patient calls regarding questions; assisting clinic support staff with patient paperwork and questions. Provide education to medical students, residents, staff and patients in the area of electrology.
Experience working with transgender patient population preferred. Must have the ability to multi-task and prioritize; ability to be a self-starter and organized; ability to work as a team member and also independently; must possess a positive and enthusiastic attitude, an eagerness to learn the background in plastic surgery, particularly gender affirming surgery and breast cancer reconstruction, possess excellent communication skills (verbal, written and active listening).
Required QualificationsCurrent license and certification with the Oregon Association of Licensed Electrologists
