The mission of MSM is to improve the health and well-being of individuals and communities, increase the diversity of the health professional and scientific workforce, and address primary health care through programs in education, research, and service. The MA in Justice Involved Care program seeks individuals with academic credentials in all areas of criminal justice reform and reduction of recidivism, including but not limited to:
Introduction to Correctional Healthcare Leadership in the Criminal Justice System Foundations of Health & Social Justice Population Informed and Designed Healthcare Services Service Development Assessment Rehabilitative & Reentry Service Design and Implementation Demographics of Health Status & Comparative Analysis to Community Health
Policies & Regulation that Impact Pre & Post Release Population Informed and Designed Healthcare Services Finance of Health & Supportive Social and Educational Policies Applied Practice Experience Integrated Learning Experience
Expectations for Instructional Faculty for Online Courses The following list outlines the expectations for adjunct faculty who are hired as instructors to facilitate an online course for Morehouse School of Medicine.
1. Manage the online course
a) Post a welcome message and introduction prior to or within the first 24 hours of the
course. Encourage students to post welcome statements to each other.b) Conduct a minimum of one regularly scheduled office hour per week. Office hours are
intended to provide students with the ability to communicate with instructors in real-
time. If the office hours must be cancelled, students should be given advance notice
and provided with information concerning alternate office hours.
c) Submit attendance by the following Monday for each week.
d) Demonstrate clear understanding of the Online Attendance Policy located in the Online
Handbook for Online Courses.
e) Contact students and the Program Director and follow up with those who may be
experiencing individual issues around attendance or performance and recommending
support services as appropriate.
2. Teach and facilitate the course
a) Teach the assigned course in accordance with learning objectives and session plan
outlines.
b) Deliver learner-centered instruction through online delivery mechanisms (i.e. discussion
boards, office hours, small group sessions, asynchronous sessions, etc.)
c) Promote discussion board participation by posting substantial responses to select
student postings at least three different days per week.
d) Respond to all student communications within one business day. If a student concern
requires additional time to resolve, please send an acknowledgement to the student to
indicate receipt of his/her message.
e) Post announcements relevant to address upcoming activities, encourage use of learning
support services, clarify expectations, student concerns, etc.
3. Assess student learning
a) Adhere to all rubrics to assess student learning.
b) Submit grades 5 business days after due date in the online grade book and keep the
grade book current. Provide each student substantial feedback on assignments that
contribute to the final grade.
c) Grade all final assignments and submit final course grades by Wednesday after the end
of the term.
d) Stay engaged in the course with any students who have been granted course extensions
(incompletes). Be sure to adhere to policy guidelines and timelines. Minimum Qualifications Adjunct Faculty should possess a terminal degree at the doctoral level from a regionally accredited college; Master of Science level degree from a regionally accredited university can be qualified as adjunct faculty with exceptional experience will be considered. Online teaching experience is highly preferred.A minimum of 7-10 years’ experience in correctional work is required. Preferred Qualifications

Immunization Immunization Requirements It is MSM’s Immunization policy that all Prospective Employees are required to provide proof that they are vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment.
