Job Title Instructor of Music - Viola Agency West Texas A&M University Department Music Proposed Minimum Salary Commensurate Job Location Canyon, Texas Job Type Faculty Job Description Job Summary Lecturer of Viola. Work Performed: + Teaching Viola at the undergraduate and graduate levels. + Performing as violist in with the Harrington String Quartet, which is in residence at West Texas A&M University. + Actively recruit string students. + Meet school, college and university standards in instructional responsibilities, intellectual and creative contributions, and professional service. + Teach related courses as needed to meet faculty load requirements. + Serve as requested on school, college, and university committees and in leadership positions in community and professional organizations. Necessary Qualifications: . + Master’s level in Viola performance. + Professional-level competency as violist. + Experience in chamber music performance. + Evidence of successful recruiting and teaching. + The candidate will demonstrate pedagogical knowledge and/or performance experience in solo repertoire, chamber ensembles, and concert ensembles. + The ability to creatively engage students in the studio and in ensembles. + Active participation in professional organizations. Preferred Qualifications: . + At least two years of previous college-level teaching are preferred. + The qualified candidate will have a Doctorate (DMA, EdD, or PhD) in Viola.
