Job Description
NOTICE - All posted positions are subject to budget approval.
Job Summary:
This nine-month appointment involves teaching undergraduate nursing courses, both theory and clinical, commensurate with expertise and education. The opportunity for other faculty roles and responsibilities is also provided.
Work Performed:
+ Teach undergraduate nursing courses, both theory and clinical.
+ Utilize the online learning management system, WTClass, for which training is provided.
+ Advise students currently in the undergraduate nursing program.
+ Serve on departmental committees and University committees (if elected).
+ Attend monthly Faculty/Staff Organization Committee meetings.
+ Demonstrate productivity in scholarly activity, if hired in a tenure-track position, for which a doctoral degree is required.
+ Ability to work day shift, evening shift, and/or 12-hour shift
+ Other duties as assigned.
Necessary Qualifications:
+ A Master’s degree in Nursing is required for an instructor position. Candidates obtaining a Master’s degree in Nursing by December 2023 will be considered.
+ A current unencumbered license, or eligibility for license, to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Texas.
+ The ability to instruct students in a variety of courses in various clinical situations.
+ The ability to develop teaching materials.
+ The ability to work effectively as a member of the team
Preferred Qualifications:
+ A doctoral degree in nursing or a related field. If the doctorate is in a related field, a Master’s degree in Nursing is required.
+ Experience in teaching in baccalaureate and/or Master’s degree programs in nursing.
