Course topics that will be taught and assessed include (but are not limited to): Construction Documents, Field Operations, Soils and Foundations, Construction Economics and Standard Practices, Property Development and Project Control. Delivery will be both lecture and lab settings, as well as online asynchronous. Additional duties include student advising, laboratory equipment maintenance, career placement assistance, course and curriculum development, assessment of student learning, committee assignments, coordination with alumni and potential industry donors, applied research or other scholarly activities, membership in professional organizations, and application of technology in a learning environment. This is a campus-based position. Minimum Qualifications: Required Education:Bachelor's Degree Discipline / Degree Area: Construction Management or Similar/Comparable Required Specialized Training/Certifications: Instructor Rank requires a Bachelor’s Degree. Assistant Professor Rank requires a Master’s Degree. Required Minimum Work Experience: Three years of construction industry experience in the United States. Strong understanding of construction document interpretation, preconstruction, construction, close-out, jurisdictional procedures and effective project management. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, or Attributes Required for Satisfactory Performance of the Position Duties: Strong understanding and application of civil construction processes Extensive knowledge of urban planning, development and infrastructure Diplomatic, cooperative and able to work well with a variety of stakeholders (students, colleagues, administration, industry, community partners, donors) Exceptional oral and written communication skills. Additional Desirable Qualifications: Masters Degree in Construction Management or related Five years of experience on United States construction projects supporting a variety of stakeholders Experience with renewable energy Responsible for Construction compliance and oversight in a project setting Plan review and strong construction document interpretive ability Software experience with Microsoft Office and other industry-standard modules relating to design, scheduling, document management and estimating Demonstrated commitment to increasing the diversity of the construction workforce through active community engagement Industry related credentials and/or certification Special Instructions to Applicants: Applicant materials to include faculty application, cover letter, CV, and unofficial transcripts.
