About the position:
The Instrumentation and Electrical Design Engineering lead is a working supervisor role within the Chevron ENGINE Designs Engineering team and supports Chevrons Refineries and Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) assets. This lead role is responsible for supporting the troubleshooting, analysis and development of I&E engineering solutions for Chevrons complex process facilities. The I&E Design Engineering Lead supervises a team of I&E designs engineers providing remote technical support for daily operations, planning for turnaround events, and small projects.�This position reports to the Facilities Design Engineering Manager at the Chevron ENGINE.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise, coach, mentor, and develop I&E Design Engineers providing leadership and guidance on standard tools and processes such as Engineering Work Orders, Management of Change, Chevrons Turnaround process and Root Cause Analysis techniques
Sets clear expectations and support creation and management of individuals� performance and development plans
Partner with customers and stakeholders to prioritize the team�s workload. Ensure the team is appropriately resourced to meet the customer's needs and business plan commitments
Responsible for the timeliness and quality of team deliverables including Engineering Work Orders as well as technical and constructability reviews
Collaborate with other Designs Engineering Team Leads to manage Designs Engineering department organizational capabilities and competencies
Promote a continual improvement mindset while removing barriers and seeking simple, fit-for-purpose solutions
Provide leadership in sharing information and resources across the business units
Utilize Chevron and Industry Engineering Standards for Safety in Designs
Leverage expertise and knowledge of electrical power systems and codes, instrumentation and control design, safety instrumented systems, process control systems, field instrument selection and sizing, equipment procurement, field construction and repair practices, process safety information, management of change work process and process control and monitoring to coach and develop team
Support department recruiting and hiring efforts
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 10-15 years relevant experience performing I&E Engineering in an Oil & Gas operating environment
Demonstrated supervisory experience will be highly regarded
Bachelor�s degree in instrumentation or electrical engineering (B.E./B.Tech.) from a deemed/recognized (AICTE) university��
Knowledge of refinery and LNG process technologies will be highly regarded
Knowledge of Australian electrical legislation and codes is preferred
