Job Description

The Team

Eurofins endeavors to develop all of our software applications in-house to service and support our numerous laboratories globally. With hundreds of thousands of clinical diagnostic tests performed every day, the laboratories of the Eurofins clinical diagnostic services business line strive to ensure that every patient, wherever he or she lives, has access to the most specialized and most innovative techniques for diagnosis, monitoring, and therapeutic decisions. Such activities require extensive planning and organisation which can be augmented using technology.

Our Clinical LIMS Europe Program will extensively be used as the central Laboratory Information Management Systemthroughout Europe, this role is crucial in defining and delivering the product roadmap.

In a nutshell

In the role, you will work with a dedicated, enthusiastic team developing and maintaining instrument drivers to support integration between laboratory instruments and the laboratory information management system.

Where will you be based and what business will you support?

Portugal based is preferred around the Lisbon area is best for us, as the job is hybrid working, in Alges area.

How can you help us?

As an instrument protocol Developer, you will develop and update new and existing drivers to support upwards of 250 laboratory instruments:

Estimate the complexity of development for new and existing instruments.Choose the most appropriate technical solution to meet the user requirements.Understand Delphi coding language.Design, develop and deploy changes to instrument Protocol drivers according to the customers’ and business users’ requirements.Support the applications in collaboration with the other team members.Have an understanding of 3rd party instrument integration middleware products.Ensuring good practices and high-quality standards are implemented and followed.Understand multiple communication protocols including:TCP/IPSerial/RS-232Web ServicesFTPSMBASTMHL7Proprietary protocolsUnderstanding of Database, Oracle DB and MSsqlUnderstanding of APIs and decoupling with APIs

Qualifications

Are you our kind of extraordinary?

2+ years of experience developing instrument drivers.Experience with Delphi coding would be a clear bonus.Some experience with Oracle and MSsql databasesKnowledge of Windows ServicesStrong analysis, problem solving and troubleshooting skills.Some experience developing on and for Linux platforms.Experience with docker (image build and container management) would be a bonus.Strong knowledge of Agile software development practices, particularly Scrum and/or KanbanClear experience in collaboration with Product Owners and Software Architect(s)Some Experience in test driven development and test automationComfortable in unit testingAbility to translate functional requirements into technical solutions.
