FUNCTIONAL SUPERVISOR: Instrument Manager
NUMBER OF REPORTS: 0
JOB SCOPE AND MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
Instrument installations and services, technical support, support to sales team and customer service
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES AND RELATED ACTIVITIES:
Install and service equipment at customer premises.
Attend trade shows as required
Present the instruments at events
Develop excellent relationships with customers
Assist in the marketing of the equipment
To work in line with duty of care to self/others and ensure Health & Safety guidelines are followed in line with company policy.
To protect the health and safety of visitors / contractors / external providers brought to site and ensure relevant H&S guidelines are met.
To bring to the attention of the business hazards, risks, concerns, accidents or near misses.
Comply with any local PPE requirements.
To work in line with in line with Environmental & energy policies.
To ensure visitors / contractors / external providers meet relevant environmental procedures while on site.
To bring to the attention of the business environmental hazards, risks and concerns.
TECHNICAL SKILLS - PORTRAIT OF A PERFECT CANDIDATE
ESSENTIAL
Suitable technical education
Experience working as an service technician
Knowledge and use of diagnostic equipment.
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal –Norwegian & English.
Computer and network skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office and able to quickly learn new software
Highly adaptable and quick to learn
Ability to work in an environment which requires close working relationships
Well organised with the ability to plan and manage own workload without supervision
Full clean driving license
DESIRABLE
Knowledge of the optics and ophthalmology market, including hospital/clinical environments
Knowledge of EssilorLuxottica diagnostic equipment
BSc. Optometry/ Diploma in Optometry would be advantageous

HOURS AND ENVIRONMENT
The normal working hours will be full time, Monday to Friday. However, you may need to work longer when necessary. The role is predominantly field based; approximately 80-90% of your time will be spent visiting customers. You may occasionally need to attend conferences, events, trade fairs and exhibitions. Depending on the size of area you cover, your job will involve overnight stays away from home.
