ResponsibilitiesA typical day is a dynamic blend of innovation and collaboration, where you drive the evolution of digital I&C systems, solve complex challenges, build strong relationships with clients and colleagues, and ensure cutting-edge solutions are delivered on time and within scope.
Innovative Engineering Design: Perform a variety of complex digital I&C design engineering activities. Prepare Engineering Change Packages (ECP) to replace/upgrade obsolete analog-based I&C systems with modern computer-based I&C systems and components. Perform engineering calculations and prepare design studies, project scopes, and engineering estimatesCollaborative Project Execution: Participate in project meetings, working interactively with colleagues and clients to develop strong relationships. Provide estimates to Project Management to support budget and schedule development. Plan and implement the timely execution of assigned engineering activitiesExpert Technical Review & Compliance: Perform review of Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) digital platform hardware and software technical documentation for specified applications. Possess proficiency in the application and use of the regulatory requirements, industry codes, and standards that are unique to digital I&C systemsOn-Site Solutions & Optimization: Perform site walkdowns as needed to identify design solutions Qualifications Typically requires a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent in related field for the position and a minimum of 6 years of relevant experienceExperience supporting modifications of Nuclear Power Plants requiredNuclear Engineering Change qualifications from any site that can be transferred are preferred 10CFR50.59 Screen and / or Evaluation qualifications that can be transferred are preferredKnowledge of digital hardware and software components commonly used in digital I&C system platformsExperience in the design, installation, and testing of large scale (complete systems) digital control and computer monitoring system upgrades at power plantsTypes of upgrades include replacement of Turbine/Generator Control Systems with DCS platforms, process computer, and cybersecurity systemsDirect involvement in the entire digital upgrade life cycle including feasibility studies, procurement specifications, design change packages, FAT/SAT test procedure development, installation, and testingWorking knowledge of the application of current regulatory and industry digital upgrade standardsStrong oral and written communication skillsAbility to be an individual contributor and work effectively in a team environmentStrong analytical skills and problem identification/resolutionMust be able to get badged at a nuclear facilityMust be able to perform plant walkdowns
Salary Range
The salary range for this full-time position is below. Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
