Instrumentation/Controls Engineer

Role Summary:

Instrumentation Order Engineering is an integral member of the Customer Order Release process. Instrumentation Engineering prepares and reviews P&ID, wiring diagrams, bills of materials and other engineering data, performs component selections, and coordinates cross-functionally with other Flowserve departments (internal and external) and suppliers to establish schedules for the fulfillment of standard and custom instrumentation designs.

Responsibilities:

Drive a culture based on Flowserve’s values and behaviors: people, safety, integrity, innovation, ownership, and excellence.

Ensure product safety and regulatory compliance through implementation of rigorous design control procedures and protocols.

Foster cooperation between departments with respect to the development of new designs and/or extension of existing product lines.

Review and interpretation of customer specifications.

Meeting project schedule milestones for instrumentation drawings and BOM deliverables.

Responsible for OE project control system design and documentation per applicable codes, specifications, customer requirements and drafting standards

Interface with and support other functions providing technical guidance to procurement, planning, manufacturing, and suppliers to clarify project requirements.

Conducting design reviews to ensure components & assemblies comply with customer specifications and design requirements.

Promptly investigate and resolve shop floor problems relating to design or quality issues, record, and report findings, make corrections and help develop and implement permanent, cost-effective solutions.
 

Requirements:

Qualified degree in an Engineering discipline, preferably with a major in Electrical Engineering

Minimum of 5 years of design engineering experience.

Strong communication and organization skills.

Knowledge and understanding of 2D or 3D drafting using AutoCAD, Solidworks or similar design programs.

Ability to work effectively with high degrees of self-management making decisions around priorities

Ability to work closely with customers either face to face or by telephone and is a good verbal and written communicator with a confident and positive manner

The pay range for this position is 101,602.50 - 152,527.96 USD Annual
